Dude is there like a different version of the novel that I don’t know about, because the second side story on Bomtoon doesn’t have any dog stuff. It’s just about Jooyeon being like “I can’t believe you have psychological problems because of what *I* did to you!!!” And then giving him a big ass sybian sex machine so he doesn’t get separation anxiety. Is this some kind of Pokémon-style version exclusive like Yeokjisaji: Bestiality and Yeokjisaji: Fucking Machine?????

I read it on the official site. Paid money for it and everything. Idk, it would probably sound more credible on my end if someone could corroborate it but the gist of the story is that Jiwook develops extreme separation anxiety and starts obsessively self-harming so that Jooyeon will worry about him. And he keeps having auditory hallucinations that can only be remedied with medication, but he keeps getting tempted to stop using it so that Jooyeon will get angry. So Jooyeon concludes the way to fix the problem is to calm him down with sex, and he buys a fucking machine (I know, the logic is not in the room with us rn) and after using it to overstimulate Jiwook until he passes out, Jooyeon concludes that they’ve found a solution that benefits both of them. I was like ok. sure. BL logic or whatever. It’s explained by saying Jiwook can no longer be satisfied with regular sex but it made me chuckle to think that severe mental illness can be fought with dildos.
OMG it corroborates so much with the dog storyline. In the other version, Jooyeon brings a dog for Jiwook to help him calm down. Then he watches the surveillance video of Jiwook using the dog to lick his hole while masturbating when he is alone at home and Jooyeon confronts him about it. In his inner monologue, he is not angry but rather he is happy that he’s found something that can satisfy both him and Jiwook. He makes jiwook understand through beastiality scene that his body now wants degrading sex and stimulation.
I believe that is why there are contradictory reviews, with people saying there is dog scene and some saying there is not. I think author might have changed it after the backlash or Boomtoon has a restriction for some certain topics so the author had to create two versions for this particular plot.

So the whole plot is exactly the same, hallucinations, trying self harm and suicide attempts to see Jiwook shaken and worrying about him, the medicines, and then finally dog but in this version it’s a sex machine.
There's likely two versions and I'm inclined to believe that the original one is the one with the dog. The spoiler-filled review from 2023 talked about it, I tried to dig it up on Twitter and while there were no explicit mentions the two fans who actually kept up with the novel as it was being updated tweeted a dog GIF after the side story released and they also talked about a dog after. The raws someone posted here had it in side story 2, and in the free raws site, a user talked about a dog scene.
I'm assuming that the current or revised version is the one with the machine. The user in the free raws site ended up clarifying things with another user that "I just saw it, it was originally in the side story but it was edited" regarding the dog scene. I just had no idea what the hell replaced the dog because no one talked about it so this all checks out. I got no idea if the version sold on Ridi was edited but I guess this confirms that the one sold on Bomtoon was. There was a notice back then stating which chapters were edited but it didn't seem to have side story 2 in it which made me extremely wary but I guess it really was edited.
At the very least, readers probably won't witness that insanity in manhwa form since I'm assuming the adaptation will follow the revised version with the machine instead. Still gives me the ick despite the revision though if only because the original one is so fucked up.
This also makes me believe that the author just took a premise of sexual assault revenge to fulfil a torture porn plot for the culprit with various degrees of depravity and humiliation. I actually applaud the korean netizens who boycotted this work since it actually resembles the nth room case.
This novel had no depth portraying the trauma of victims rather it just served as a convenient tool to depict such disgusting acts that it is horrifying. I personally believe that psychological novels are not bad. They are just another type of media that has a certain audience. But this is not psychological. It’s something I wish never existed.
LMFAOOOOOOOOO honestly I doubt it was changed because of the controversy. Bomtoon is still hard endorsing the series and it's doing pretty well for a new release. I think the revision was made because someone on the adaptation team was like "woah, too much cringe, I can handle all the other fucked up stuff but not the dog stuff." which is also super funny. The standards for content is beyond my mortal imagination.
Honestly, I don't blame the adaptation team because the dog stuff was truly too much. I get them. Everything happening before that was all within the yaoi wheelhouse so no surprises or anything. Violence is fine, that happens even in mainstream manga. Rape and gangrape are in every other yaoi comic so that's also whatever. Same goes for confinement, kidnapping and blackmail. Hell even gore can be passable. Bestiality though?? Uhh, insta drop I fear. The dog stuff is so unusual and too fucked up especially when you have pets so I get them. Been busy so replying now. Dark, psychological, thrillers: such novels are so many in the world that the perception of how someone takes it in depends solely on the readers mind. I do like heavy themes but I also want some kind of closure like wrapping it up nicely (which means having all loose ends tied). In this the abuser is rich, super strong, psychopathic, the abused has no family, no friends to help him. No one to report him missing. The abused doesn’t have an inclination of his crime (because of lost memories) so we are witnessing someone being abused badly with the fantasy of gangrape and sexual assault of an innocent. Seems like a very clumsy setting of making everything work out when they wanna abuse the guy.

I don’t think disliking a series disqualifies you from sharing that opinion, either. Imo my biggest concern are people who aren’t quite as open-minded as you and are on the warpath attacking everyone who likes the series. I feel like a lot of them are forcing themselves to continue reading so they can keep arguing even though the story distresses and/or angers them so much. I respect and agree with your take on the matter, although we have different feelings on the series itself. Hopefully other people reading can have some calm.

Okay, so Reverse Thinking has been a hot topic on Korean bltwt because of some rumors that it’s based on the nth room crimes, that the story involves the sexual abuse of women, illegal filming, incest, and bestiality. People have been calling for a boycott and such. So I spoke with a Korean friend of mine who read the novel to verify how true these things are, and I want to share what I found out: So first of all, there is no violence against women. Or at least none shown onscreen. There is no incest or bestiality (the latter of which I’m not even sure is allowed on Bomtoon). There is however, significant violence and illegal filming perpetrated against the mc. It’s a very cut and dry blackmail/revenge story. Albeit an extremely hardcore one. There are two gang rape scenes and imprisonment. I also want to say it is COMPLETELY understandable to be weirded out or distressed by these themes and not want to touch the story, however I wanted to make this post because there’s a lot of misinformation surrounding it. At it’s core, this is just a story about violent things happening to dudes. The reason I believe it’s important to make this distinction is because while many Korean bl fans have a high tolerance for problematic themes such as abuse and rape, they aren’t fine with seeing it happen to women. The reason is because Korea is obviously a pretty misogynistic country, so Korean bl fans treat bl as a form of escapist fiction where women can’t be hurt. (Not saying I agree with this mentality) But anyways, I hope this post gives a little insight and encourages you to think about the story from other perspectives regardless of whether or not you want to read it.

Hi! I'm not too sure about the manhwa "cutting out" scenes because it only has five chapters so far and those five chapters have been very faithful to what's in the novel according to my friend. There isn't any drugging or assaulting WOMEN in the story but plenty of fucked up stuff happens to men. Like I said, I think it's understandable for people to be put off by themes of blackmail and illegal filming (since those are things that are sadly very prevalent in Korea) but what puzzles me is that those aren't very uncommon tropes in BL. In my opinion the reason a lot of people are so angry about the story is that they believe that misogynistic crimes are happening to women when it's really more Jiwook using derogatory language towards Jooyeon because he looks feminine. But I totally get it if you don't want to read it. Shit's crazy and violent as fuck.
