Whenever I encounter this type of plot, I always feel bad for the “trained” heir. Most people invalidate their feelings, and turn them as villains. But they have the right to be mad and claim what’s theirs, afterall they never had a good childhood and have a stricter schedule.

Having read the novel, Rodwell didn't precisely want to become the heir. When the OG Roman started to go sideways, he was suddenly pushed onto this lifetime mission, and he just got used to it, and used to want to please the world's expectations on him. But when the new Roman comes to picture, it is certainly described how Rodwell is lost, how he feels useless when being the 'next heir' is all he has known for a long time. However, he acknowledges the fact that Roman is more suited for the role of being the head of the family and Roman offers him his support as his older brother. He is finally free of the expectations and weight of responsibility he didn't want in the beginning, and is able to become a Dimitri. Afterwards, Roman helps Rodwell grow and Rodwell fully supports his brother ( ̄∇ ̄")
It’s too cuteeeee and Heidi’s a lot better than me, I’d probably say yes right away with the marriage proposal
