This is immature on the ML's part. Adele never wanted greater responsibilities as she is focused on her own dreams (very much upfront on this one). ML could've atleast told her EVEN AFTER MARRIAGE AND APOLOGIZE as their futures are still not certain.
If the ML really cared enough he should've atleast thought about the repercussions on Adele's life. If he wanted to keep it a secret, he should've protected this secret forever.
