I guess im just drawin to this type of story. First i finished reading his house today then randomly clicked on this one.

I love everyones analysis on Nii-chan and this has been and will probabaly continue being one of my favorite manga so i shall imput something as well XD
I like to see this story not as an awarness but a simple window of the emotions a person goes thru with anything; this case being that of abuse and homophobia.
It shows simply life.
Everyone interpretes, understands, reacts, and comforts themselves and others in many diffrent ways. This story showcasing 4 diffrent ways of doing these things. Yui being the most common way to comfort others and oneself. Especially the last scene. He trys to show kei the importance of accepting yourself and that he is not doing anything wrong while yui himself ends up feeling depressed and does the same thing kei does in terms of going to drugs (medicine). It just goes to show how most people put the ones they love before themselves.
Again this is my own interpretation and feelings when reading this manga.
