Whereas, both Claude AND Athy need her. Athy doesn't need a ML she needs her mom.
FL who for the life of her cannot properly express her feelings due to her past experience with her family have tricked and caused harm on the ML so many times causing the ML to lose trust in her hence everything she does the ML feels like its just a show for him to react or to get his attention. It somehow unconsciously became a competion between them. While she is persistent in getting his attention, he's suppressing his feelings coz he doesn't want to lose to her schemes till it's too late.
