How did chahyeon go from crazy obsession like Narye to... I'm just gonna switch 180 and become a normal dude who loves you? So weird. Right till the last chapter Seoyo believes that Chahyeon is not Narye. And tbh I don't think he was, not really. He was a lot less psychotic and murderous than Narye, but he was still possessive and manipulative with Seoyo.
I am learning about Dark Triad traits in Psychology and while Narye fits all three traits, Chahyeon doesn't.
Hmmm, maybe because Chahyeon is Narye. Chahyeon hides his true traits to manipulate the main character into thinking he is not Narye. Why? Because he knows that the main character is afraid of Narye. So he hides his traits to act like he is not Narye, even though he actually is. The last five chapters show/explain that Chahyeon is Narye. And no, the guy who kidnapped the main character is not Narye. Chahyeon hired that guy to kidnap the main character to stop any doubts that Chahyeon is Narye. It literally shows that Chahyeon is Narye???
That is not what I meant. What I meant was that even though Narye is Chahyeon's past life does not mean that that is his present self - the narcissistic, obsessive, psychotic character who doesn't care about anyone else but himself.
Most people who have dark triad traits think of themselves as immune. So even if he knew MC was afraid of Narye, it wouldn't matter because he is immune and entitled. The fact that he is hiding it because he is afraid of losing MC again, makes him different from Narye. Still not great. But not Narye.

Poor Etty. I can believe how lonely he must have grown up. Anyone who every showed him even the slightest bit of kindness was killed and replaced. How can a mother hate their child so much or be so cruel to them, manipulate them and not care about their well being? How selfish can one person be? If omegas are treasured so much in the kingdom, over betas, I'm sure Leona could have used that to her advantage better than pretending he was a beta. She is super delulu. The entitlement of that woman is insane. And poor Etty who has no idea what a mother's love is!!!
I hate that Etty is treated poorly by both parents. One is manipulative and constantly putting him in harms way,, and other just treats him like crap doing the bare minimum to show that Etty is his bloodline but nothing more. Even Shar who is the only friend Etty has ever known was taken away from him for years and Etty is constantly berated if he spends time with Shar. If Shar becomes the new King, doesn't Leona see that she can install Etty as the royal consort? That would also keep her family in power. Honestly I hope she just burns in the firey depths of hell for all of eternity.
I honestly hope we see more of Narye's story between Seoyo getting banished and Narye becoming emperor. I mean, what made the sweet child turn into a monster? Why was he so obsessed with Seoyo it couldn't have just been Seoyo asking him to be his yin or telling the concubine that he would keep Narye close even if he was ordinary?
Narye isn't just a psychopath, there is something seriously broken inside him. I would really like to know more about his past. Not that is justifies any of what he put Seoyo through but it would be interested to see what lead to that. Honestly, after this last update (Chapter 25), I honestly hope this is Seoyo's last life and I hope he is able to get revenge or resolution and can finally breakfree from Narye.

P.S. Is it just me or did the shaman's pause when Seoyo told him "don't do it" give you chills too? I wonder if there's more to the ritual or some part of it that got messed up and will have CONSEQUENCES....
Even if he is Narye's reincarnation, I don't think it would be fair to judge him for Narye's actions. I quite like Chaheon, yes there are times where he is possessive, but he recognizes that and apologizes. Narye felt entitled to Seoyo so he would never apologize. And even when Narye made Seoyo completely dependent on him, Seoyo still could not love him, whereas Cheheon is not keeping Seoyo captive, but Seoyo chooses to be with him.
I think people will argue that it is stockholm syndrome, but Chaheon is not Narye, even if he is a reincarnation, just as yoon seoyo is not lee seoyo even thoug he is lee seoyo's reincarnation.
I find this story fascinating. It's human of us to judge Chaheon for his presumed past life, but he cannot really be held accountable. It's also kind of like that thought experiment right - if you could turn back time would you go kill baby hiltler knowing what he goes on to do?

Obviously I have only read what is here. As I said I can only judge him based on his actions as chaheon... and for now, chaheon is not evil. When he becomes evil then we judge him for it.
Maybe its because we're only seeing things from Lyle's perspective. But Ash is kinda creeping me out. The way he's behaving and how possessive he's being while still keeping lyle at arms length. IDK. There's something a little sinister IMO. IDK. I really liked him in the 1st half, but now I'm getting creepy vibes.
IDK why I am continuing to read this. I think I am just hoping the king suffers horribly. I hope the guy manages to escape. I hate this kind of jealous posessive obsession that the Mad King calls "Love". He doesn't love the guy, he wants to own/posess him like he's an object and not a human. How can be ok with the guy being sad, hurt, upset if he truly loves him? How can he commit things he knows the guy will hate if he loves him and wants him to love him back?
