I know there’s actual stuff going on in this latest chapter but I just wanna take a quick sec to comment on Hee-soo’s outfit....... I hate it. Ok I’m done.
Lol I felt like it in that moment too. It’s just she always puts so much effort into making Hye-sung & Byul look super cute so it feels like she’s making Heesoo look like a dork on purpose. Who wears collared shirts tucked into shorts? I’m not even remotely fashionable (literally always wear the same thing; black drawstring pants with black tshirt to make it easier to hit the gym... which I haven’t done in 5 years) but even I know you don’t dress an adult that way. It’s cute if it’s kid I guess, but Heesoo is a man so it just threw me.
Welp, I better start wearing suspenders now & telling kids to stay off my lawn. I’ll see myself out...
Hye-sung said he was jealous of the pretty omega. He then found what he assumes is porn that Dojin was presumably watching & is about to watch it. My guess is it’s to find out what kind of ‘sexy stuff’ Dojin us into. But of course Dojin will misunderstand & get annoyed & interrupt. He’ll probably cause a big fight.
Anyway, why wouldn’t Byul be home that night if both parents will be?? He ain’t old enough to be having sleepovers...
I thought it was strange that Hye-sung & Byul were suddenly all blushing around Chowon since they’d already met him. So I revisited chapters 60 & 61, and both of them (but especially Byul—I just hadn’t noticed before!) were blushing when they first saw Chowon. I still think it’s kind of silly that everyone forgives him so easily because he’s pretty, but that is human nature, I suppose.
Does Chowon have schizophrenia or was that inverted version of himself supposed to simply represent an intrusive negative thought? I suspect that's what his meds are supposed to be for. Can't tell if he
OD'd in a failed attempt at committing suicide or if he was just over-compensating for having skipped his meds the past few days and was actually trying to get rid of that darker version of himself (which seemed to be encouraging him to hurt others). Either way, I hope he really is trying to change. After his meeting with Heesoo, I can't tell if he's crying or laughing or what (since he's facing away). Heesoo thought to himself that he'll boast to Dojun, so is that just part of Chowon's plan to regain Dojun's favor, or was his apology to Heesoo genuine? I honestly can't tell since he's so mentally unstable. Narratively, it would make more sense for his character arc if he was being authentic. I'm leaning toward his apology having been legit.
I wonder if any human people ever bring a laser light to meetings with cat people...
Human person is giving a presentation & nervously watching the cat person executive in the meeting to gauge their reactions.
Cat exec’s tail starts thumping up & down in agitation so human person starts to sweat.
Quickly pulls out laser light & shines it at the projector screen: “so uh yes, as you can tell on this graph, our profits have certainly gone down... however, if you look through the packets in front of each of you—”
Cat exec dives across the board meeting table to smash both hands over the red dot on another meeting attendees packet. Pupils dilated.
Human person, now drenched with sweat: “I’m fired, aren’t I?”
Cat exec: “That depends...”
Opens hands.
No red dot.
“Yes, you’re quite fired. Please go pack your things & don’t make a scene on your way out.”
I love Isogai! So glad he’s back. It’s great that Souichi has a true friend. Everyone needs a good friend, even antisocial dorks like Souichi. And Isogai is right—he’s been rooting for Morinaga & Souichi all this time. I would love it if Isogai would get his own spin off. ♡
He’s been my favorite character since I read Challengers a thousand years ago.
