well thats quite a simple question to answer. Think about disney movies, the original all practically were about woman that had mental conditions or in belle's case, stockholm + beastiality. And that is a eurocentric view of woman, imagine applying confucius ideas have embedded themselves Because in most asian cultures where an ideal girl is a submissive whose physical beauty and emotional, physical, and economic dependence on the male is a hallmark of a "good" woman. So if a woman is competent; ie not stupid, they can do things without relying on others and that isn't deemed hot. Personally if i had a girl that can do shit without me thatd be great but masculine culture enjoys having the man be a provider who can protect a girl. Damsel in distress: the changing but still common perception of woman in the 21st century.

There’s a comic called seducing the emperor or something but the female lead is in constant danger and only the male lead can save her ( literally) .
