I get the amount of hate Cesare is getting, but it is literally his purpose to be this shitty and trashy. I am not one to say past trauma is an excuse for one’s current action, however, it does explain why he acts this way. He never got any love from his dad as a kid and was neglected due to being a “bastard” child. His mother only focused on how to make him the king and never really gave him the attention that a child should get. Of course he would become a terrible person when he was surrounded by terrible people. That just makes him all the more human and interesting. I genuinely feel bad for the situation he is in at times and sympathize with him. What he did to Ariadne in the previous life was truly horrible. Just like how he drove Ariadne to kill Alphonso in the previous life, he is driven to scheme terrible acts because of his mother, constantly feeling pressured to do things in order to achieve what she wishes. I am not taking sides or excusing the terrible acts of any character, but I am saying that I am drawn to Cesare’s character. I do think that Ariadne and Cesare are quite similar, both being bastard children and neglected by their parents, and both feeling pressured to do certain things in order to survive
The ML gave me actual aids. I was internally screaming at him every chapter. I think what he felt towards annette was pure obsession and nothing else. It didn’t seem like he loved her at all, just thrived off of her positive energy since all he was ever surrounded by was torture and murder. He had some serious mental problems and let it out on annette as if she was the cause. He convinced himself to think that, that annette was the root of all his problems. He seriously treated her like garbage, and it drove me insane to see him suddenly change up after those suicide attempts from annette. Honestly, if i were annette, i would’ve done the same thing. Poor woman had to suffer just because of a man who convinced himself that she was the reason for his brutal past. I do love the dark themes tho, you dont get to see a webtoon like this often
