I don't find Hal that interesting to me (it gives a paedophile feelings the way he treats her) and I feel like Rias's difficult personality could really be a match with Lippe's cute but smart personnality.
I don't usually care about Age gap but can't anyone see that he is treating her like a baby and still feels somehow in love? That's kinda creepy to me, and I must say that Lippe isn't stupid haha. She saw it well.
While Rias seems to has seen through Lippe's personality (the real Lippe, adult). He seems so rude but... still cute? :')
I was scared people might go to me with kills attempts but joke aside thankfully someone who understand me haha
I was waiting for Rias all along since I saw the raw because, bro, nah, Hal isn't a possible choice. The blondie with purple eyes might even be a better choice in my opinion because he is so cute and treat her as equal (maybe above lol) but Hal treats her like a baby... Literally those feelings are wrong ! I won't agree with conscience paedophilia. :')
I wonder if I'm the only one thinking Sereina could actually be a man, if not, just the Crown Prince's crush. (since a girl must have a good position in hierarchy if they want to marry her into the royal family)
But I really have this strong feelings that she is a "he" but too pretty for his own good (remember how many Korean guys are much prettier than girls with long hair...)
Well that's kinda funny to see that we all are fangirling over Athy and Lucas while her dad's is dying. It's like we don't even care about him in the first place eventhough we've seen him more than Lucas.
But well he got me angry and sad with this Jeanette so I must say I don't care anymore if he dies or not. Now I just want Athy to live.
What I want to see is the Crown Prince's reaction lol
Cause I'm almost sure that he did all of that so that she would be swept by him. And suddenly hearing that she confessed to his rival and are actually going out... Oh that's so funny just imagining it.
I was on cabel's team since the debut (since I like bad boy that are sweet inside) and now I will finally get to see that blondie's reaction.
I will prepare champagne.
Ohmama I find her so charismatic. Finally a Cunning and mischievous FL.
And if I'm right, the ML will be the Crown Prince. And he will be the only one not buying the Miel's dress and knowing directly that our FL was the one who knew everything. (Eventhough that's why she led to treason because she knew way too much)
SPOILER
She is truly a bad one lol
But eventhough she kept her "bad" attitude, I was still cheering for her and expecting the other to die in an incredible way. This FL makes you reconsider how kind you really are.
I will be honest and everyone will insult me about that but I'm not a BL fans when it comes to drama or manhwa.
Yes the author seems to be totally op for it but please, It's driving me crazy with all that is going on when she is literally a GIRL. NO BL IN THAT.
I'm not an homophobe, I mean, I have friends that are homo so Idc but I am really a fan of straight romance stories. And so I think if it continues like this, I may drop it. Dunno I still want to see how does will go the story but this is too cringy for me (almost the knight).
BUT, I have faith in the FL! Please be honest and stop with your lies right now. No one should lie about their gender.
What everyone likes about her is her talent as a technician, not for her gender. So can she please stop with the cliché of the "Men are the most possible gender to gain what they want" when women are literally the best when they are showing their badass sides. T_T It feels so great to see empowering women... I don't want to see women trying to disguise as a man just because of that cliché.
Oh maybe now that I'm debating with myself, what's wrong with this manhwa is that no real women aren't showed as proud and badass as women really are. I like seeing such prideful and intelligent female characters, almost as cunning and mischievous that they can be sweet. And there are literally no characters like that. All the girls that are shown so far are : FL, a girl disguising as a guy because she doesn't assume the fact that she is a woman, ML's fake fiancee, the cliché of the little girl following every ML with passion and jealousy toward the heroine (wow what a powerful woman, I'm so scared) and a maid, literally shown as a side-character with no development at all beside her protecting FL from BL without much of thoughts.
Well this manhwa is women empowerment as hell. Not my favorite so far. But like I said before, the heroine can definitely pass the "woman empowerment" category if she stop with her actual mind of "women can't advance, I need to be a man". And no, I'm not a feminist (or maybe a bit, I never thought of that actually), I just want people to like themselves as they are! (T.-T)
Except in perhaps the past fifty years, being a woman was a heavy disadvantage. The historical, noteworthy women were either from a rich/powerful family, married a rich/powerful man, noted for their death, or part of a large/powerful group of women. There are still places in countries where women are to be treated equal that cannot walk alone. Some women are still treated as property.
Based on the world she created, our MC has chosen the statistically safe route. She is stuck there as a foreign slave, almost starting at rock bottom in terms of worldly luck and power. And every person we have seen with any respect and appreciated skill has been a man.
She can be in the woman empowerment category right now. She is protecting herself with their ruse. And when it is lifted, she will have a connection with a powerful man few will question. Edward is also falling for what he perceives as a man, which will be a greater test of his conviction.
Reddit has asked many questions but one that has stuck with me has been: "If you could be immortal but be sent 2000 years in the past in exchange, would you do it?" Many of the answers call to mind those times were not so kind to women.
i see what you are getting at with the lack of female characters. This probably doesn't pass the bechdel test. But i mean... its still a good manga? and if you are into fxm romances, you are probably used to the female characters having little character outside of the FL. I think for a gender bender taking place in a historicsal setting, this is as expected.
Well, I agree for the most part... except for the straight/bl romance thing, I love them both ... I I'm sorry to say that he doesn't find out until chapter 40 something.... also badass women pride, hell yeah!!! Also, don't worry, I didn't think your comment even bordered on homophobic, and people can tell it's not if they actually read it, it's ok to have preferences for the manga you like... me, for example, am not to found of harems/love triangles/couples with huge age gaps, like really huge gaps.... but that doesn't mean that I hate anyone who is polysexual, nor do I shame people for being confused about who they love or want to be with, nor do I taunt couples where one is older than the other.... manga is our way to escape and feel comfortable and pursue whatever emotion we want to feel, whether it's a steamy romance or a heart wrenching tragedy or a mixture of unknown emotions caused by a love triangle! Just have fun! There's no need for you to feel like you have to defend yourself ! Different people have different tastes, some like sushi and others don't, u wouldn't beat up a person because they do/don't like sushi would u? Me neither!ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Well that's relieving to see that the only people that are against my comment don't come at me for this lol.
Thank you all for understanding, I was literally debating with myself here lol.
It's true that women were never really allowed to show a better side than men and I understand it even more since I'm from France and Europe was kinda like that. At least, that's what we see from going to school and reading stories about that time.
But the fact that this is a book she's written herself, it's not a real story, it's a fiction, so that's why I'm triggered at it. She had the power to do something about this, but she just kept this wrong mentality within her book. I mean, if this was a story centering on women's situation, I would have agreed but It's not. Women aren't important visibly here so there were no point in making women's side worse.
That's what I don't understand. So far, she never said that there was a FL so clearly, the fiction is about men and their path. Women are just a side part which can even be ignored literally. To conclude in my opinion, there was no point in making women's situation worse than there were already.
Worse because there were still women who made it by themselves, being recognised by their own talent. At least in France. They were a few, but there are still some at least. And not all of them were big shot to begin with (Marie Antoinette was the big shot, modern minded queen but that's it lol), I remember learning in French literature the story of a famous countess telling her own written stories to children, and to make money, she wrote them on paper and sold them. She made her own name with her own talent of writing beautiful and mindful stories. She literally gain her fame by herself since we are still studying her stories in High School. :')
Anyway, all of that to say that since she was the author, she could have make it easier for women without endangering the main point of the story. And no one would have say it can' t be real because in some country, it was real (I gave an argument since I'm debating but hope everyone understand my point).
yeah, i think i understand with what your saying. she had to power when she started writing this story to not include such an outdated way of thinking in her plot, unless there was something further in the story that we don’t know about where the characters meet someone who is going to fight for change and equal rights, then she did a pretty questionable story... also i like how everyone is commenting, this is one of the most peaceful constructive comment section i’ve been in.
I agree. She had the ability to write women better. But with slaves in this world, there was bound to be more problems. There is always an us vs. them dilemma. At least in current events, the "them" is a virus, meaning we aren't fighting other people. Rarely do we have such a luxury not to be consumed by war. Looking at the Prince, though, makes me think this story will come up on one.
the thing is, sexism is in fact something people enjoy reading about. I don't mean this in the way that they enjoy sexism, but rather that they enjoy seeing a person succeed against great odds. To see a women in a situation were women should not succeed, and then see her do great things regardless fulfills a lot of underdog fantasies. Yes, the author could have written about a fair society, but then the story would have lost part of it's draw.
I'm not rooting for the blue haired guy. He is way too weak. Her big brother is way more handsome in his own way.
And I must say this is my taste, no need to judge my comment with your fake reasoning. I said "I'm not", that's not like I said that people shouldn't ship them.
And that's not incest gosh. Then when you are living with your husband for almost all your life, will you judge it as Incest? They are not blood related so this is the same.
THIS GIRL ISN'T GAY OR ANYTHING! SHE IS JUST AFTER PRETTY PEOPLE!
What a plot twist :')
But I understand her, that villainess is way more beautiful than the black haired girl since she had that hainous looks that looks at you with domination. She is so cool gosh.
But the heroine is such a meme. She is just living there with the same energy we read the story.
There is something disturbing me... In their world, there is magic. And witches do? Magic. I really don't understand why is that a problem. Isn't the crown a sorcerer if he can do magic too?
Their problem is when they see someone much stronger than the average magician then. And Shanna is a genius in magic, is that it? At least the only thing I can see here is that they just wnat to kill magic geniuses.
There is a shitty problem here.
But I like it. Without this magic nonsense, the FL so far is great.
Ikr. Why are they so mad about it? I'm so confused. Even so, if she really meant harm, she could've killed them right there without hesitation. Magic exists there. The setting is still confusing me. ಥ‿ಥ
