They're looking for Thoth's temple (the ponytail guy's, Maat's husband's temple), because they want Thoth's personal advise which is quite valuable since Thoth is god of wisdom, has premonitions and can make predictions. Maat promised foreign god that Thoth would agree to give him advise, and Seth decided to go ask some stuff too.
As for Isis blacking out, it hasn't been said for sure but I think it's because she got caught in her own nightmares about the past (IIRC it was by accident, but if not then perhaps either Osiris or Sekhmet were behind it)
