I could see if he zipped up her back and then called her something along the lines of "attention seeking" as a verbal stab, but none of that happened. This dress scene isn't suppose to be that deep. Listen, regardless of how hard you are projecting your real world situations on them, about maybe know a controlling man or being or knowing a pushover that makes you upset, there is a 99.999% chance this story is gonna have a happy end.
