I heard from the whispering vines that it was related to world "glitch".

So some really important events got twisted/distorted on one-sidedly.
One of them was that "confession" scene.
As the commenter above had said. In that final confession,
mr. Lu actually said that he loved MC, but the tampering made it that MC saw in the monitor that mr. Lu said that he hated him.

Then MC ran away, leaving the unsuspecting mr. Lu with myriad thoughts

The people above had already said it, but there's another reason where the "glitch" or devs tampered with the important scene such as "confession". It was because at that time, the mc was already around 70th smth floor, anyone need to reach the 100th one before everyone could face the final boss. It was an experimental act on the devs part so they let mc clear up to 70th floor, but seeing that he might really reach 100th while other players are only about to 30 or 20th floors, it was too much of a power gap where lower floor players will only be eradicated on the final boss scene since they aren't powerful enough, to balance it out, the devs decided to tamper with mc's "confession" scene so that he will lose the will to continue pursuing floors or even quit the game.

Omg thank you so much for explaining, ive been wondering y the ML been acting like that this whole time.
