I just read spoilers for the novel. What do you mean Ido wasn’t a scumbag in the past life? He literally raped Sejin and forcefully marked him barely some time after Sejin was raped by someone else. He had to go through something so horrible TWICE . Ido was abusive enough for him to commit suicide. No wonder he thinks he isn’t worthy of Sejin’s love. If Sejin wasn’t so starved of affection and had more self confidence do you think he would’ve stayed with a trash like this?

I know that was really bad of him but I can kinda get where he came from. He felt betrayed. And hurt people hurt others. They were both hurting. Ido is also a human afterall.

Also Sejin never told Ido why he did what he did. Ido gave him a chance but he never took it so Ido thought he betrayed him on purpose. Ido did not know of Sejin's upbringing which caused the misunderstanding. He loved him but he thought the person he loved betrayed him. That will mess up anyone.

Besides compared to a lot of rapist scumbag semes I read, Ido is an angel. He did not realise how much he hurt Sejin until he bonded with him forcefully and felt his emotions. He was blinded by his own emotions. Everyone has times where we make mistakes in anger. Of course he did a huge mistake and he paid for it.

I don't care whoever hates on my opinion but I still like Ido a lot.

And the author's writing might also have paid a part in me liking Ido, I must admit.

I think it's great that you accepted ML as a character. He is a flawed character, he is not perfect and made mistakes, and you accepted that. I love your opinion on this. I have heard many opinions saying that the seme is scumbag, but that's it, even though the author made both MC and ML as a very complex character with a complicated relationship and feelings between the both of them.

I get u OP. It was so easy to label him a scum but if u dig through his character, it was easy to forgive him but at the same time hope for him to suffer on his actions as well.

Thank you for understanding. The writing of the author is really good here. The characters are well fleshed out and realistic. To be honest I feel more relatable to Ido than Sejin and his emotions because I know I've made mistakes as well.

Yes. And he already suffered with Sejin's depression and ultimately, death. He was already in love with him and that must have hurt a lot. Knowing you hurt someone dear to you thinking they were a bad person and realising they weren't at the end and you have hurt them must have felt terrible. He did everything to redeem himself, so I really appreciate his efforts.

I get your point here but I still don’t like the idea of excusing rape, in this case thought I specifically blame it on the author and not the character since you can cleanly remove the rape (by Ido) without it affecting the story much
