Fuck man, I'm a genuine fan of everything this manhua and author has to offer. The art is gorgeous, it's a heap of nonsensical fluff and att first the fans were endearing as well.
Instead, this has turned into a fanwarfare of toxic comments, and triggered responses. Itt's not possible to control what happens and how people perceive content, or how they respond to it but it disappoints me that the dominant thing in the comment section is blatant hateful speech. I love a good debate and to read why people dislike this but only if it us structured in a polite, or enjoyable to read manner which still respects fans.
Same goes for the fans who respond to critical responses by doggging on the reviewer for voicing their opinion.
Overall ya'all nasty, learn to respect eachother and your opinions.
It's interesting everyone's opinion on this morally ambiguous situation. Personally I agree with both sides; one where 'demons' have their own life and one where humanity must be preserved.
Reasons why i agree with Emma is because
- demon's obviously have social structure, familial situations and the capability to feel emotion. Whilst most demons don't, it's displayed rarely.
- This weirdly collerates to the food we consume. We eat (cattle as they describe themselves) farmed animals to survive. An argument is that animals don't matter as much as our own lives (I'm not vegetarian by any means), but then wouldn't it be the same way of thinking for demons? Animals can feel fear, prefer freerange situations, have survival instincts. Humans hunt for sports, so do demons. In fact, other than the obvious "royals" of the demon world, (who one may compare to our world as the rich) most demons eat to keep themselves 'human'. So would it be humane to rob them of their humanity? But with Musica's blood, they may remain human; thus they don't necessarily have to consume people.
- Demons have a conscious and personalities and etc.
- i've always been very empathetic and care about lives and weirdly empathise with the villians all the time
Reasons I agree with Norman( ̄∇ ̄")
- Demons hunt humans. This is extremely problematic for the preservation of those on the demon world. And living in fear of being eaten should never be a thing to exist. The creation of lab humans is utterly terrible as well and is disgusting.
- One cannot promise the demons wont eat people.
- We don't know to what extent demons empathise and how much they can act humanely.
- Musica's friend himself said he didn't eat purely since he wants to hunt himself, so demon's may have ulterior motives
- There is no easy solution to make coexistance possible (genocide may be easier in the end)
I think theyre both in the wrong and the right, and both definitely think theyre doing the right thing. I think it's a little harsh being like "kill all the demons. Rotten scum" but idk ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Is it bad I stan Taehyun, poor soul. Fuck Minjae and Mr. Shin.
Quick rundown of after the last update:
Mr. Shin learns of Minjae's delusion of loving him and exploits it. It's learnt that Eunsung died by a fire started by a cigarette and Minjae pushed him into it. (The cigarette was from some bullies that minjae set Eunsjng up with.)
Minjae then finds out that Mr Shin is Eusung's dad but Shin man convinces him he loves him. Taehyun visit's orphan boy and apologises for not caring enough and then learns the truth of the twisted situation. But Minjae ignores his pleas that it would 'all end in misery'.
Mr Shin keeps up the facade that he loves Minjae until finally resulting in suicide to make Minjae feel the pain of losing someone; as well as escaping the torment of Minjae.
It's a really bitter ending and I do feel sad, I wish that Minjae had a redemption arc or that he was being accused for a murder he didnt commit. But the way he treated orphan boy is inexcusable.
I feel bad for the orphan boy and can see his pain, and how he was hurt and it's shit how Minjae treated him; I actually felt revolt and have never hated a character more.
Taehyun, the sweetheart, just wanted to give Minjae the love he didnt deserve. He was set up to be a 'douchebag' at the start by seeming possessive bur honestly just a poor sweetheart.
I hate Minjae and Mr. Shin with a passion (mainly Minjae) and find their personalities unenjoyable and that's what makes the manhwa so good. Is that it has no romanticasion about the situation the father and son landed upon. I wonder why i didn't like killing stalking though...
Im very hurt. I thought this was a cute manhwa but that's what I get for not reading the synopsis ever.
Tbh i feel like norman's change of mind is cheap and executed poorly. Im a big fan of this serier, dont get me wrong, but it doesnt seem built up,is kind of anticlimatic, and is too reliant on "the power of friendship will get us through"
I don't think it was the soley "THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP " I think it's always been a matter of Norman never wanting to truly face the fear he had of what's been happening. Bonds with others is so important for our overall well being that when someone is coping with trauma being around those you care for can sooth that trauma. That's how I see this situation. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Interesting, i had considered that a little. I'm not 100% certain on my interpretation (after all it's an interpretation) but thank you for sharing your thoughts (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
