they just really glossed over the rape thing didn't they...
all you ever talk about is rape. Is it because it's a little like talking about sex? Is that why there's this silly obsession with all the little kiddies these days? There are worse things that can happen to a person
Please read the following with an open mind:
You should listen to Chanel Miller's impact statement on YouTube. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/chanel-miller-reads-her-entire-victim-impact-statement-she-wrote-to-address-brock-turner-60-minutes-2019-09-22/
Yes, this is fiction. Yes, this is Omegaverse. Yes, there are worse things. No this story is not about rape and there's other things. No, I shouldn't be bringing real life into this.
But sometimes (often) there aren't worse things. It IS the worst thing. In fiction sure it's a silly obsession for little kiddies. In reality it's an attempted suicide, it's body dismorphia, it's isolation, it's shame, it's insomnia, it's obsession. Chanel Miller does a good job explaining that.
At the end of the day it's not about sex. It's about loss of control and pure violation. Our poor little Omega had ten years of problems after the incident.
Not trying to flame you or anything. Normally I would ignore your comment as this is a MANGA forum about OMEGAVERSE (like duh it's the trope). Just wanted to share food for thought because your comment (maybe the way it was worded) made me think a bit.
-sincerely,
An anonymous kiddie that cares to much about this little obsession even though it's fiction
Exactly!!! A hige part of the whole story and it was just there for shocl value and never mentioned again. Like, what??? Wouldn't that be the 'big trama momemt' that leads to decisions being made and actual actions? But nope. It was just there as a non important peice. I really didnt like this one at alllll
Dear anonymous a-hole,
I have no idea what you're so damn insulted about and I have literally never spoken about rape or rape related cases. I only meant that they gave us this as explanation for all the drama and then never even attempted to resolve their issues, which in my opinion is a giant plot hole.
And before you go spouting about how rape isn't the worst that could happen to a person imagine this: somebody tells you that they were raped and your first reaction is: "don't complain. you could have been raped AND stabbed". I don't think you're going to have many friends when you finally get released from the hospital after getting bludgeoned
Kind regards,

it's not a story about "getting over your rape" It's a romantic tale of love and eventual requited love. The lovers love each other madly through the entire story. Talk about that already
stop reading stories with rape so we can stop hearing you gripe about it.
LOL. omg. you tell 'em. Okay, look, The story is not a dramatic explanation of how Luka's rape caused everything to go wrong. In fact, the rape has almost nothing to do with this story.
The story is about the very DRAMATIC and tragic fate of Luka, who is about to lose everything at age 14, home, family, everything. To prevent that, Tassei saves him by biting his neck. That and the problems that stem from it is your story.
Luka is miserable because he's having problems with the love of his life. he doesn't feel worthy of Tasei. People all around him reinforce that.
Taisei is an Alpha, a stellar person, kind, popular, charming, handsome, smart, advantaged. He'd intimidate anyone.
Luka tries to free Tassei. All the misery that comes from that is the drama. Tassei really loves Luka, and Luka really loves Tassei, which is why he's so self-sacrificing for Tassei's sake.
But still. There was so much wrong and like you said dramatic and tragic fate going on. But they never talked about any of it. Homeboy gets stabbed and suddenly they're happily married and have a kid. That's what annoys me so much about this. Yes there was a lot going on for this kid, but the rape incident was the last straw for him and pretty much what caused it at that point in time. In many other stories I've read, it's the talking things out and explaining that actually builds the relationship. And that didn't happen.
Did they need to talk about how Taisei getting stabbed was what pushed Luka into fully realizing that he loved and needed Taisei? I thought they showed that quite well. The rape caused nothing. Like any rape, you can only do a couple of things with it: get therapy, get past it, turn it into emotional growth. Never does the author say a single word about how the rape lingered so much that it affected Luka's every move or any move. It was not any last straw. The last straw was when Luka tried to free the love of his life and how that was the last straw. It's too bad so many people can't get past the rape idea enough to know that this is a love story.
If people in stories really did talk things out in order to slowly build a strong relationship, it would be so boring no one would read it. Love is pretty much the same for everyone. Loss of love is where you get pure, true drama. Someone already said it, loss of love hurts worse than rape.
I'm getting the feeling we could have this discussion for a very long time... Agree to disagree ( ̄∇ ̄") ?
im so sick of people commenting on rape, and there comes everyone whining not to mention rape that it happens in all yaoi. its really obnoxious. People have the right to their opinions, please stop filling peoples comments with your nonsense.
i was also upset that they never discussed the rape. this is something the uke has internalized and he needs to talk about it.
.... ok, recap.. who's Irene Belserion again????
