It's about Conrad's family. They didn't appear anymore after that, right? His father who did all those for his wife and ended up being jailed. I didn't see how the wife do after knowing her husband did that for her to get cured. Conrad's brother who's the reason why he is so kind of the fl cuz she reminds him of his brother.... it's kinda sad how they aren't part of his life in the end.
