I'm reading the novel and the "brother" of the uke is a POS
I just started reading it yesterday so I don't have all the spoliers but I do have spoilers of the "uke's brother".
But before that the ML isn't a red flag at all he takes care of the uke in his puppy form. He finds out right away that the puppy he's taking care of is actually the beastman uke that worked at the casino but doesn't care. He still spoiles and teases him and the uke doesn't know that ML knows so he's trying to find a way to escape when his injuries heal and he can turn back human.
So the "brother" is an orphan that's part of an organization and runs a casino. He is racked up some depth some years ago so in order to pay it off he uses/steals from uke's paycheck to pay it off without him knowing. He "claims" that he found the uke in his puppy form abandoned 5 years ago and took him in. But it is most likely that he took some part in him being "abandoned" because he knows what type of beastman his parents were and that he is small most likely because he took after his toy sized maltese mom. He doesn't feel bad Stealing money from the paycheck because "I deserve it since I took care of him for 5 years"
He sends the uke to ML to do one get one last drug package or whatever because he only trusts him, then promises to the uke that after this they will have a normal life. BUT hes actually plans to frame/kill the uke so that he could run away with the drug money, paying off his remaining depth and settle down to marry this one girl before she realizes that he's in an organization. When he meets up with ML to explain that the youngest ran off with their money, ML sews through the BS and before leaving him tells him "You don't know what he likes or when his birthday is... and by the way he likes eel". So then "brother" starts freaking out and is planning with this other horse bestman gang guy to kidnap uke. The horse beastman agrees, if only he could keep uke as his toy until he's tired of him and the brother does not care so he agrees.
Both of them find out that the uke is staying with the male lead because the "brother" explained what he looks like in his animal form. (Small white dog that horse guys saw ML carrying around)
Ngl I sorta don't understand
Story appears to be an allegory about social stigma and extreme alignments. The chaotic and true to their desires demons are 'evil' while the orderly and controlling humans are 'good'. The 'good' humans have shown themselves to be harsh and cruel in her first 2 lives.
The church has zero care for her and are eager to kill her through sacrifice once she performs her duties. They have no regard for her as a person and deny her basic pleasures and once her role is done they even plan to deny her life, sacrifing her. They didn't help her in life 1 and they actively killed her in life 2. So now she is exploring the demons in life 3 and trying to understand what they're truly about beyound what the church has indoctrinated. And already we are seeing a lot of symbolism about balance.
Seme comes across as so weirdly selfish.
The animal disease gives them extremely strong desires for each other. It makes them impose their feelings of lust and ownership on their partner. When not affected, there extremely courteous towards each other, not wanting to cross any boundary.
So the main conflict of the story is: They truly love each other, but expressing that desire is imposing due to their disease, so even if they do love each other, they think they can't act on it. Kamiya decided after 13 chapters of maneuvering around the issue, that their lives for each other is worth it, so he finally takes the step to express his love, even if it makes him selfish. It's both a selfish action and a selfless action, because while it imposes on Hitomi, it also clears all doubt from this heart, that Kamiya doesn't feel the same way.
Oh yeah no that's obvious but I mean more like it's selfish that Kamiya is pushing away Hitomi by not being together with him, as a way of protecting him but...
like he has made it very clear that he would never and can't break up with him so keeps trying to make hitomi do it instead of him that's the selfish part I am referring to.
Since the beginning of the story and before hitomi has the disease its being shown how down right desperate he is to stay by kamiya's side, to the point of proposing of being sex friends. So the way he sorta keeping pushing the whole "break up with me before it is too late because I cant" is pretty cruel and selfish
Kido was my favorite character and the only form of salvation presented so far but this booger HAD to kill him. Killing the only person who knew what was going on, at that point whatever happens to him is his doing, cuz he for sure ain't doing something right
He a child who being abused by his parents. He clearly doesn’t trust adults because of the abuse and the only thing he had was his stuffed animal and well us the readers. It’s takes a lot to gain the trust of a child who being abused and he probably thought Kido was like his parents and was gonna take the only thing he cares about that kept him alive. Because if you paid attention there was a few chapters where he was gonna commit suicide but chose not to because he wanted to finish telling the 100 ghost stories.
Real. Let's also take not of the fact that a child's brain and their decision making skills don't work the way adult's brain do. The part of brain responsible for decision making is not fully formed yet. Their thinking is still black and white and don't fully understand consequences yet.
I know he's a kid but it's doesn't change that he is seriously messed up and messing up. He's clearly feeding this thing stories and it's only becoming stronger. he KNOWS there's something wrong, doesn't ask for help but at the same time doesn't want to deal with it alone. You CANNOT say that that's not frustrating as a reader.
This kid is literally killing people and refuses to tell Hina what is happening but also doesnt push her away putting her in danger. We learn from kido that interpreting a story is highly dangerous but that menace, let's Hina tell stories to that thing. Yeah I feel bad for the kid but I feel even wrose for innocent people that are dying. Look at my girl Hina for goodness sake she killed and 100% ate that kid's Dad. Kido was killed by a kid he was trying to help, police officers was not only killed, pushed off a building, horribly disfigured by a monster, and his corpse burnt to a crisp. Now I think Hina is definitely next. Plus I honestly think MC is not alive or isn't human. Remember how he got a burn scar on his face after burning the police officer? The next chapter it was completely gone, he's not human. I'm starting to understand how weirded out stepmom is towards him.
I feel bad for the kid but I feel like we are gonna learn that he's not as innocent as he seems.
You’re thinking is very black and white about a child. Regardless of what the child may be it doesn’t change the fact that he have the mindset of a child especially the mindset of a child of abuse. Like do you honestly think a child was been and is being abused by adults would trust people and ask for help?? He doesn’t want to deal with it alone but he FORCED to because he doesn’t trust any adults. And even if he wanted to tell someone like Kido for instance his parents literally told him to not tell the police anything. (Basically threatening him to not tell them about the abuse) they literally made him stay home from school for months to avoid him interacting with people and telling anyone. do you think any child would depend on an adult if that’s what they’re dealing with. Basically you don’t understand the complexity of a situation involving abuse especially with a child so if you find that frustrating then it kinda says a lot about you.
You’re acting like the child is purposefully making all of this happen. I’m pretty sure the boy would let anyone get hurt but not Hina. So far from what we know and see he was doing everything he could to protect hina. I don’t even think the child fully understand what happening himself so how could he tell Hina something if he doesn’t fully comprehend it either. Not to mention how Hina tried to destroy the thing which caused her to start changing and become more “evil” or different. Idk if the child is evil or not. He could be a child looking for a sense of security or routine. Talking to that thing and telling it ghost stories is his way of distracting himself from his reality. A reality he doesn’t want.
Your mindset doesn’t seem to understand how actions can cause reactions and the complexity of the situation at hand and it very black and white. All you think about is a people that died but you aren’t trying to understand both sides just one side. I feel bad for the people that died too but i’m not gonna place the sole responsibility and blame on that child if there is more to the story. So if he is more eviler than he seems then that would be a decent plot twist but who knows.
Exactly!! Like a child brain is way more complex than an adult brain. Especially the brain of a child of abuse. They’re gonna have a hard time trusting and relying on adults because of that.
Omg bro I deal with parental abuse I fuckin know but DO NOT FORGET abuse is a cycle. Victims do become abusers themselves given time. I think I clear sign of this starting to happen is when he pushed the police officer down a window, this shows that he is starting to be influenced by his abusive household. His disregard of everyone else (the policeman and kido) except himself and, maybe, Hina is proof of this cycle. It is sad but it is a REALITY that some child can do some horrible (rape/murder) things due to abuse or mental problems. We should ALWAYS help the victims but when victims or people with mental problems REFUSE to receive the medical help they NEED and go on to hurt others then they are no longer the innocent victim because they will hurt others.
If by your logic him killing people is ok because "omg he was abused as a kid so it ok" then child rapist and killers wouldn't be going to jail. Your so fuckin hyperfocused on the abuse that you ignored EVERYTHING I said. The abuse here isn't debatable, it's wrong and that kid needs better parents. No one is arguing about that so idk what you yapping about it and now you got be uapping about it instead of the plot. What I'm saying is that there is something weird about this kid and he is, unintentionally or not, putting others in danger. Burn scars disappear overnight, powers to making people bruised by simply gripping their arms too hard, as an elementary student being able to shove a pencil through a grown person's hand, KNOWING how to dispose of a corpse, and his stuffed pony turning into the devil at night. This kid is weird to say the least.
Honestly in this case the abuse is the least debatable going on. The father didn't want his kid to tell the police about his abusive household and not, the strange things going on in the house. That's why the kid didn't say anything. No one would believe him, not even his dad believes the step-mom when she said there's something weird going on. Him not reaching out for help on his abuse is understandable but him not accepting the help of someone (THE ONLY PERSON) who understands what's going on paranormal wise is another thing.
No matter what you say, like it or not, it's a fact that he's setting everyone up for a horrible future by feeding that thing stories. I also don't believe that he is telling stories just to distract himself because he did not look surprised or ask any questions when kido said that interrupting a stroy is dangerous, meaning he knows.
You supposedly deal with abuse and don’t know how people react differently? Not everyone is gonna act like you and do things how you would. Believe or not of course not every abuse person is gonna accept the help. A victim doesn’t know who they can trust so they would typically lean to handling it on their own no matter how badly they want to reach out and accept the help. Understand that abuse is complex and really can fuck with someone mental especially a child brain.
How is it a fact that he setting everyone up when WE DONT KNOW IF HE TRULY UNDERSTANDS ALL THE AFFECTS. We are getting bits and pieces not the whole thing so you’re making assumptions. That all we can make. Is assumptions.
How is the stuffed pony his problem?? he very clearly didn’t know that his pony walked to his house and did something to his mom. Learning how to dispose of a body is genuinely not hard for a child to find out especially with the internet and little to none adult supervision. Lastly the pencil the mom tried to slap him and that was the thing closest to him. Anyone would use anything to avoid being harmed.
Who said him killing people is okay? Clearly reading isn’t your strongest skill. First off he not even killing anyone. once again making assumptions. The only one i would say would be the first police office because if im not mistaken i think he pushed him out the window? I can’t remember if he got pushed by the kid or if the supernatural being did it. Either way that’s a 50/50 depending since i don’t remember who did what with the first police officer. Like we genuinely don’t know who doing all of the killing but you’re trying to pin it all on that kid because he weird when we don’t know if it’s actually him. Because everything been pointing to the strange thing the kid is telling stories to not the child. But believe what you want and stay ignorant. Don’t matter to me
