You know how the angry bottom turns out in the end, but what about the top? Does he get any character development at all, positive or negative? Catch twisted feelings for the bottom, at least? Lima syndrome?

Honestly, I think novel readers are pretty split on Jooyeon as a character. I'm just gonna give my thoughts.
(some spoilers below)
So Jooyeon is very determined to carry out his revenge against Jiwook, but as they spend time together he starts to feel sort of bad. Not because he thinks what he's doing is wrong, but because Jiwook doesn't remember anything. People will say that Jooyeon completely hates Jiwook, but I think his feelings are much more complicated. In a way Jooyeon never grew up from the heartsick kid he was in the past because he focused 8 years of his life on revenge. When he gets it, he doesn't know what to do with himself or how to let Jiwook go. For most of the story when he's just abusing Jiwook, who doesn't have his memories of their shared history, he's trying to catch that old lightning in a bottle again--calling Jiwook 'hyung' like they did in the past, admiring his face constantly, and making it so that they can spend time alone (read:kidnapping). Jiwook's lost memories hurt him not only because Jiwook basically has impunity from the abuse he subjected Jooyeon to, but because Jiwook is also denying Jooyeon of the past and the present, leaving him stuck in this wwird limbo. It doesn't reeeeealllly excuse everything Jooyeon does imo, but he's definitely a more complicated character than a lot of people think.
In the end he makes peace with his past and chooses to keep Jiwook, knowing both of them are too broken to live without each other.

Thank you for your reply. It looks like Jooyeon doesn't get to "win" in the way he wants, and in the end they've both ruined each other.
Actually, does Jiwook ever regain his lost memories, or does Jooyeon tell him about the past? In terms of storytelling, it's usually a wasted opportunity for an amnesiac to stay amnesiac, but the outcome is hard to imagine depending on Jiwook's mental state.

Spoilers!!
Jiwook manages to get his memories back by the end. He had been slowly regaining some after spending time with Jooyeon but only in fragmented bits. After being put through an incredibly harrowing and traumatic experience he remembers everything and explains to Jooyeon that at the time he had been afraid of his own feelings and found it easier to hurt Jooyeon than confront them. He apologizes and Jooyeon is like, “Damn ok. You don’t have to apologize. I’m super conflicted rn”. In the side stories Jooyeon never apologizes for his role in things but he chooses to take responsibility for Jiwook and gets him to a psychiatrist lol. Going back to your original question, I struggle to say whether or not Jooyeon has lima syndrome. Jiwook obviously has stockholm syndrome lol. But Jooyeon never really “empathizes” with Jiwook (which is the whole theme of this wack ass novel) and instead comes to care for him like he’s a pet. A very beloved pet, but a pet nonetheless.
How about you give him pants with a hole in the back? Or underpants? Or even a censor big enough for his butt? Please?
