I KNEW IT you couldn't kill her!! And dang it Claude, I knew it you used dark magic like you would alcohol and beer when you want to forget. damn! ┗( T﹏T )┛
Maybe if Diana didn't die, Claude would still have his emotions and imagine how spoiled Athy would be (as if she's not spoiled now). (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ Athy really is the daughter of Diana and Claude, she has both personality and traits from them (being good in her studies coz wanted to be praised - like her dad, and being cheeky, fearless, stubborn like her mom) (▰˘◡˘▰).
Ahh~ Soul Cleansed.. I'm getting ready bc it feels like angst will come soon; it's too peaceful here folks

So by far this is how I understood the story:
We have Ikuro, Ranzo, Sachiko, and stupid Norihiko.
Ikuro our protagonist grew up neglected by his father and abused by his mother, his father was always spending his time in the "dungeon" where someone "like a mantis" or monster was kept being hidden; and his mother got sick in the head bc of that.
Fast forward in the present, mother died followed by the father. Now Ikuro discovers that "the monster" locked up in the hidden room behind their house is his older brother which he just found out he had one. This brother got everything in the inheritance left by their father (according to the will) and nothing was left for Ikuro.
Norihiko, this stupid fucker was a long time servant in the Tōma's house even before Ikuro was born. I don't know what's his deal but it seems like he also slept with Ikuro's mother before, and now he groomed Ikuro up to adulthood to be his "toilet" and plaything.
Norihiko basically manipulates Ikuro since Ikuro has somewhat experiences a not so happy childhood; traumatized by his mother so he is afraid of women, hates his family(and his brother more so), and he has daddy issues (like mental or something because of what he witnessed when he was a child).
So flashback to what really happened to Ranzō, so far what the story showed us was that Ranzō loved his brother Ikuro even before and that's the last memory he has before he went ill. He was choked to dead by Ikuro's mother (because of jealousy), but miraculously survived but his mentality remained as a child since then. He was unable to speak as he was locked up by the father after the incident (not sure if he was also molested by the father ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ ).
And for sure this is the reason why the father's will was to only give the inheritance to Ranzo and his children and nothing for Ikuro.
Now we are just waiting what will happen as Sachiko (Ikuro's arranged wife) decides to teach Ranzō to speak so he can aid Ikuro; bc as we can see Norihiko is basically ruining the Tōma family and having old boomers rape Ikuro and arrange everything in the company(not sure if he has grudges or what).
This is the first time that I was actually disgusted by the seme like dafuc dude just die and let Ikuro live happily ever after with Ranzō and Sachiko. #-.-)

People saying that shipping a thousand year old man with a literal kid is a no no
Basically Lucas is just like a Vampire, he may not be immortal but he doesn't age, I don't get those people who see him as a great great grandfather of Athy like bruh
In the 12 years I've been watching Anime and reading mangas, manhwas, and BL's; I've read tons with ML's/FL's the age of your ancestor, but if they not human what does it matter ?
And IMO characters who lived long/immortal means they have so much wisdom and experience. Lucas's confidence, and the way that he still has that young personality despite being so mature is so damn attractive. Like he oozes elegance without much effort, the perfect black knight for the princess.
I'd rather keep Ijekiel as a pet or somethin' no shade ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~ just my pure and honest opinion, no hate spread love and stay sanitized ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

okokok this may be a spoiler to you but...
so athy is has actually been reincarnated i believe like 3 times
(maybe more tho idk)
so... the first time was her in the story (were she was killed by Claude), second time was her past life, and the 3rd one is now. if im wrong please correct me. she just doesn't remember so technically shes pretty old too. i dont know too much on this matter cause someone else told me. but you know what this means lucasxathyyyyyyyy with no FBI

Whenever I see Anastacius overlooking Jeanette; I can only think if he's not feeling guilty or somethin' that what he did to Claude when he betrayed him coz of Jealousy is coming back to bite his own daughter.
Now Jeanette is the one losing things one by one, getting betrayed, being used and getting desperate to receive affection from family.
The things Anastacius did caused his daughter to be born a being a living curse, and also carrying karma from his dad and mom's bad deeds.
Not sure if Jeanette will choose to go down the same path, as it seems like everything that's been boiling inside her, feels like it's gonna explode anytime soon. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Everyone is saying that Claude only liked Athy bc she acted endearing. Hmmm
--- We don't know what actually happened in Claude's life ---only bits and pieces about being betrayed--- but we do know it was all done by his own blood ---and we all saw that his brother wasn't even that hostile towards him when they were children---
--- When he forgot Athy (bc of the curse) he was torn bet. killing her or letting her live. I think he actually likes Athy (he's a tsuntsun sometimes) since he failed to kill her in the Ruby Palace in their already two lives. He was also torn on trusting her or hating her since he has history on family killing and betraying each other---- he thinks Athy is using him (bc she has his blood) and he was bewitched by her. ---he got to that point bc he could not believe that he'd gone soft after suffering multiple times---
--- But after humiliating Athy at his Bday Bq. he saw something in Athy's eyes ---which only resulted in his mind torture--- torn on wanting to kill her (honestly he tortures himself too much) so that Athy being able to stand up to his Father while looking him dead on the eyes, Claude's conscience and reasoning is slowly leaning towards ---not killing his daughter---
--- After calming down, and not being tortured by the pain on his head ---despite STILL not remembering Athy--- he let her come back as he realize he was actually worried. So I don't think he only liked her coz she acted endearing, coz she did not act endearing after Claude forgot her but he still failed on killing her.
I still can't find a reason why he can't kill her, if he wants to he could've already. Like barriers are nothing to you Claude, you can use black magic duh. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ Athy's just a teenager. Like everything is obvious, most manwas I've read are so clichè like the world only cared because the FL changed her tactics. Not this one, there's an explanation for everything, that's why after everything I've read by far WMMP is still the best imo. I can never get tired of this one. ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

But I am getting WMMP deprived again. (/TДT)/
I left my thought and theories last time here in the comments and I'm so glad someone spoiled the reason of "Claude's Personality" in Athy's first life. I'm not a patient person and when I saw "THE" hints throughout the story (mind you bc of being WMMP deprived I already re-read all chapters 4 times now
╥﹏╥) I developed a theory on what really happened on Athy's first life and why it ended in tragedy. And since I was so sure of my theory I could not wait so I feel reborn after being spoiled. ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
I'm so glad I did not hate Claude, I could only hate the people who continues to mess with the lives of Claude and Athy. Claude already suffered so much in his childhood and Athy already suffered from her previous lives. So even tho Jeanette is not at fault and Anastacius is goddamn hot, dgaf these characters should just run along and live together as family and mtob . #-.-)

sorry I wanted to explain it in detail so it got too long read at your own risk.
remember in the current timeline when Athy got sick and was sleeping and Claude was quietly debating wether to kill her or not. He mentioned; I think this is how it goes---"A little more and I would've forgotten you already"---- he was pertaining to everything about Diana(including Athy) he wants to forget bc he can't live with the memory while Diana is already gone. So as we see he did not forget, why? Remember Athy encountering Claude in the emperor's palace EARLIER than the First Timeline (Athy was supposed to meet Claude on her 7th? Birthday if I still remember correctly) but they met earlier than that----. This brings us back to the past, as we all know -----Claude used black magic----- why? He used it to erase all memories of Diana so he could not remember her and their offspring. BUT it takes 7 Years for it to be complete (the black magic) so in the first timeline Claude and Athy met exactly on? or after? the Black magic is complete so when they met he doesn't know Athy AT ALL.
BUT in their current life Athy is different than her previous lives she's not timid or a goody two shoes anymore; instead she ended up not staying put in the Ruby Palace and ended up wandering outside the Emperor's Palace where she met Claude BEFORE the Black Magic took effect, hence Claude ended up not erasing his memories that's why everything that happened in the current timeline was so different; AND that brings us again back to when Athy was sleeping and Claude muttering to himself ----" A little more and I would've forgotten you already "----
Since Claude has trust issues, cold, and a ruthless person, it takes a lot to be on his good side. Diana is an exception coz he loved her, now that the only thing that gives light on his dark life has died he could not help hating Athy but could not bring himself to kill her (not because she acted endearing, I actually think that Claude knows about Athy acting cute or playing dumdum) as we all noticed everytime he tried ---he already failed to kill her the first time, in the Ruby Palace---. He did not explain why but we all have guesses, I just hope there would be a Claude thinking aloud moment whe we could hear about his thoughts on Athy.

Yes I too had this same theory I'm surprised to see that you thought the same about the fact that Claude tried black magic to erase Diana's memories, but Athy had to meet Claude at her 9th birthday and yet she met him at her 5th birthday and as he had said "1 year more" I think the spell would end when she would have been 6 years and 3 years later know meet Claude, it's so sad this story but I have another theory too, the fact that Athy Said "lippe tea" and others especially that Athy had lot of Diana's personality I clearly think that the Athy we know should have been the real Athanasia from the beginning but there must have been a problem otherwise why would she suddenly send in the novel?? In my opinion her Korean body would have been at the first Athanasia like idk maybe a switching body ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Oh to summarize everything the Athanasia that got sent in the Novel was the real Athanasia.
As Lucas indirectly explained in the previous Chapters; The 1st time she got unlucky (Claude doesn't remember her so she met misfortune), The 2nd time she gave up (Athanasia got reincarnated as an orphan in Korea, but she got depressed and overdosed in sleeping pills), -- what's gonna happen now that she's back?-- I can't remember what chapter but this was after Lucas temporarily cured Claude after he got back you may want to re-read.
And you may also want to re-read the chapters where Athy and Lucas were in Claude's room after Lucas temporarily cured Claude;
Because Lucas mentioned there that Jeanette has magic and Athy got confused and asked him how did Jeanette have magic when she did not see her use it;
Lucas explained there that EVERY HUMAN has magic in them; it's just that it depends wether they could use it or not.
So obviously in Athy's 1st life she definitely has magic in her but did not know how to use it or did she know that she has magic; because if you remember clearly, Athy did not meet Lucas in her 1st Life. They only met in Athy's current life.
WHICH serves as big difference in Athy's return because knowing magic and having allies definitely changes her situation compared to her 1st life where she is alone and did not know how to fight back.
And also what I said earlier that Claude erased his memories in Athy's 1st life using black magic is what happened in the Novel; (someone spoiled it for me) (▰˘◡˘▰)
OMG I'm so happy that my theory of her being the og Athanasia and that Claude used black magic to forget Diana so he didn't know he had a daughter in the first timeline and had no empathy and sympathy for her bc he removed his emotions, all came true.
All we need now is a solid flashback!!!!!!
