The plot, despite what others say I think it's... Well, it's not neat what so ever, but it's also NOT bad. Its like going through different phases of life in only 50 chapters (it also dipicts toxic, power hungry mad sh*t, though it is still relatetable)

yo, I read your comment before reading and I thought white hair is gonna be some cutie patootie inside those craziness. NOPEEE guy was downright crazy and playing god. In a different story, that madness of him would've been cool.
Anyway, I agree that the plot was not that bad. Its the normal storyline one would see in other stories. Its not a great read, coz I just skipped through most of the chapters, specially with all the SAs. The baby really saved it all.
Compaired to other genre of manipulation this is nothing. And well the ml being manipulative at some point after all those years of being surrounded by manipulators is kinda understandable (not justifying his actions, ok?)
And well sohu I thibk there's gotta be more character improvement cuz after all they've been together with mc cuz they were neighbors and stuff (obviously didn't date while they were apart) mature dude which makes them look more like brothers kinda feeling except for the forehead kisses...

I think Rebecca turned back the time and my theory as to how, is that everytime she didn't eat in her past life was that she was secretly working on spells on how to turn back time (and might have been mostly eating poison).
When the emperor tried to save rebecca that's when she casted the spell. Just imagine. While lily laying on the cold pavement half dead, then the emperor and the tower master clashed and rebecca sees the chaos as she also lays by the floor and makes a quick spell to turn back time. Sad part of this theory is that the knight died in battle as they tried to save past rebecca, thus why he didn't have any past memories like the others.

I think Ririko played cupid, I mean like I am 100% sure she knew they (or one of them unknowingly(Touma is dence)) like each other. And I also think she thought the real father would probably love and doted on their child, yes.
But the environment(the father being a yakuza and all) would have been very dangerous for a child to be in, hence why she picked Soutaro and Touma too, while playing cupid for them since she might have thought it was her fault they parted without confessing to each other.
To summarize, Ririko was put to the edge and analyzed the best place to put the child in, and have great people for the child to grow up as.

I think people are calling the story/character(s) bland is because others have seen these types of characters and plot too many times in stories. And think that the duke has more personality is because he differs from those other story(s) as ML and because he has more sass. Hopefully the story will progress!!! Fighting!!!
