Maybe you got it confused with the other manga. There’s another character who can see the red string and this is a spin off to that manga
Idk if this is a late reply but you didn’t imagine it, it’s Volume 3 chapter 4-6.
It used to be uploaded on here but I think the translator took it down because they were using someone else’s scans and didn’t get permission (or something along those lines).
