I have several pet peeves in yaoi works. 1) When ukes are treated like objects and 2) (this is odd) I can't stand when one character gives the other a bj and they don't finish. This manga addressed both of these issues with Ai standing up for himself and declaring that he's not a thing, but rather a person when it was being discussed if he was going to be taken away. That made me so happy to see an uke being portrayed as something other than an object. I really love to see a character that shows they make their own decisions and are their own person.
for #2, I don't know why it bothers me when a bj is stopped before it can lead to cumming, but it really bothers me. I really liked that Ai called Nagato out for stopping him, and Nagato actually gave an explanation. I love seeing the communication over even small details that would have been forgotten otherwise.
For ch. 378, Tsukishima is playing volleyball on a division 2 team? Did I just read that correctly? That makes me so unbelievably happy.
Also big thanks to Furudate for making me sob while reading ch. 378. I'm so excited to see Kags and Hinata play against each other, but I'm still holding out on them getting on the same team (Japan national team for Tokyo 2020? I wish).
I don't really think that this chapter was supposed to be showing Uenoyama crushing on Hiiragi. I think it's meant to show Uenoyama all the sides and aspects of music that he used the love but kind of forgot about. We've been pretty accustomed to seeing Mafuyu come alive and indulge in the music he loves, but we also forget the slump that Uenoyama went through. I think it's important to touch on the fact that is isn't just one person in your life that can change everything. However, meeting Mafuyu opened his eyes to all the excitement around him that was there, but Uenoyama just couldn't see it anymore. If anything I think that it makes their relationship stronger and we can see the positive impact that Mafuyu had on Uenoyama. That being said, I love Uenoyama's and Hiiragi's banter with each other. I wouldn't say Uenoyama is crushing on him, but I think that he is viewing everything related to music and performing with much more enthusiasm than he did before. I just fucking love Uenoyama and seeing him lose his cool.
So ch. 379 states that this match is for the 2018-2019 season, and @ god, furudate, or whoever, please let haikyuu end with Kageyama and Hinata on the Japan national team competing in the Tokyo 2020 olympics. I'm begging. It would be a phenomenal way to end the manga and it would be in 2020. And I want to see them play together again.
