I looked at chapter 20 again, and how Yamato interacted with Hibino reminded me so much of how Yuiji interacted with Mayu when they were dating. I feel there are so many parallels between the two. the low-energy vibe, the feeling as if it's half-assed, their minds being elsewhere, and the feeling of obligation to do something rather than genuinely wanting to do it for their own enjoyment.
I really want Yamato and Yuiji to get to together, and I think there is a strong chance that they will.
1. I like Hibino, but I'm not completely sold that he has genuine feelings for Yamato. He says so himself in ch. 18. He definitely has the attitude of "oh shit another gay guy. I'll date him because he's there."
2. Yuiji tho, I think he likes Yamato so much but has never had that experience of liking someone that much and he doesn't know what to make of it. He is always thinking about Yamato and always wants him to be okay. To me, it looks different from how Kyousuke or Akiyama have shown their support for Yamato.
3. Yamato has made it very obvious that he has feelings for Yuiji, and he has been able to see how it has differed from what he felt about Kyousuke.
(I think Hibino and Sakura would make a good match because of their personalities tbh).
my mind is blown every time I read a chapter. It's so delicate and so beautiful. Not only is the art stunning, but the storyline and understanding of adolescent behavior as well as what it means to be a gay teenager in a society that has certain views of homosexuality. It's so on point and refreshing. It really feels like a well-crafted work of art with the dialogue and especially Yuiji's monologues as he thinks about Yamato and what it means for himself to feel love. I've never seen another work of BL that evokes this kind of reaction from me. Truly special
all I'm saying is that if they had kissed it would not have been one-sided
