Dont hate me for this take but:
Am I the only one who feels the FL is a little TOO naive (dumb even)? Like I feel like I’m losing brain cells because of her lack of awareness and perception like you would think she would be a little more guarded in her 2nd life as to not be put in situations that could go against her.
Don’t get me wrong I still like the FL but I just wish the author made her be a more self-aware and guarded.

Okay I’m sorry but I’m so CONFUSED! Can somebody please give me a brief explanation of what’s going on??
All I can gather is that the crown prince isn’t what he seems and the third prince knows that as well.

i’m pretty sure that the first prince is a scumbag who has an inferiority complex w third prince and loves to fuck him over. the third prince is basically the royal scapegoat. third prince is hella traumatized and acted like he didn’t love the MC bc if he did the first prince would’ve killed her sooner.. buuuuut first prince (probably) did so anyway. after MCs death he was probably lured somewhere by the first prince and ended up hella wounded, but no one believes him when he says the first prince is sus as FUCK bc hes the “problematic third prince.”
i lowkey doubt that the first princes’s mate was “stolen” by the third prince, if anything they prob had a relationship before the first prince “called dibs” and said she was his mate.
the king is a piece of shit who favors a WINGLESS blondie who gathers mana, assumedly by draining residents (i.e. killing them), instead of his strong as fuck third son.

I read the novel just to figure out what was going on, and apparently (spoilers below):
Of the three princes, the first two were extremely powerful, with practically transcendent powers, and the third was ordinary. Of course, the king favored his firstborn son, because he was super-powerful, but the third prince had loads of followers because he actually had empathy. (I don't know if they ever said anything about the second prince. He's really a nonentity.)
The first prince found his mate first: Sarah (I think she was also a human, but I don't know). But he didn't understand how "lower beings" worked, and their courtship was problematic. Sarah became friends with the third prince, but the first prince became enraged because of his insecurity and accused her of having an affair. He killed her in his rage and ATE HER.
Unfortunately, dragons are cursed so that if they are IN ANY WAY responsible for their mate's murder, they lose their mates forever. The dragon can no longer reincarnate (their souls will be destroyed upon death), and the mate's bonds will be broken, their souls will be washed clean, and they will become a new person.
Sarah is reborn at the FL, the third prince's mate, and the first prince recognizes her instantly and goes EVEN MORE INSANE. He makes it his goal to make the third prince go through that he did and lose the FL because of his actions. He cursed the third prince to avoid the FL (I think she became sicker every time they were close), and started to brainwash the FL so that whenever she decided to try to make things work, she would feel scared or betrayed by the ML. His goal of course was to make the FL choose him this time, but of course, she refused.
The poisoning was actually not intentional, if you can believe it. The first prince was having Lucia feed the FL tainted tea, but it was just enough to delay the wedding due to her health, not enough to kill her. (And of course, Lucia never knew. She was told the tea was supposed to make her healthier.) But Lucia's mother found out about it, realized that her daughter would be killed for attempting to assassinate the third prince's mate, and decided to cover it up. She killed the FL, and lied that it was a suicide, before dying a week later. Lucia's father investigates the supposed suicide and also figures out what happened, and also acting to save Lucia, he imprisons Lucia in their family dungeon (Lucia still didn't know anything! This is how she finds out!) and the father lies to everyone that she left voluntarily and is traveling/stationed elsewhere. Lucia doesn't get let out until practically the end of the novel, like 4 chapters before the end, after the first prince is dealt with. She did 100 years in solitary confinement. Girl is not okay. But at least she gets pardoned, finally.

Wow. Boy do I hate the crown prince & the king.
At least, the crown prince cannot escape eternal damnation (since this ain't a tragedy, i know he'll be defeated eventually)
.... I do hope the King gets stripped of his stature , mana, name & everything & have his people look down on him for unilaterally favoring a monster
Like, did he even investigate on his own? Thoroughly? Or did he just take things at fave value due to hia blind prejudice (always a BIG big weakness to have on a King)

So, apparently favoring the firstborn is common practice among dragons, it's not just that the first prince was super powerful--although that certainly helped.
And the first prince WAS punished when his mate died. But the rumors that Sarah and the third prince had an affair was apparently taken as fact by the entire dragon community, so the third prince was also held responsible for her death (as well as the first prince). I think the punishment was that they both had their names stripped from them.
Clarification: They were both punished for Sarah's death. They also had two similar punishments (their names stripped away and banishment from earth, although the second one happened after the FL died that first time). I'm thinking that losing their names happened because of the circumstances of Sarah's death, but I don't remember exactly.
The king definitely favors his firstborn, but he "tries" to be fair, which means that he wants proof (or so he claims). He thought the first prince was raving with grief when the FL came as the third prince's mate, so he didn't believe him blindly, but he also didn't investigate the rumor of Sarah and the third prince's affair...he just thought that his semi-feral, rebellious youngest child was "growing up," and had a crush on the first person who treated him decently. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
This novel doesn't really go into punishment. After they rescue the FL from the first prince and find out why he went psychotic, they just turn him in to the king to deal with...and he's never mentioned again. Lucia, too. The FL finds her imprisoned in her family's prison, tells the third prince about it and how she shouldn't be held responsible...and she's never mentioned again. Zephrael gets two chapers to come out of a coma and let the FL explain everything and apologize...and he's never mentioned again.
Hopefully the manga fixes this, because it's ridiculous. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
So, yeah. The king is barely a thing, and probably only exists in the narrative so that it's not a story about rebellion. The antagonist brother has to be of a higher rank and power than the ML, because of stakes, but we don't want potentially ruling their nation to be an immediate problem (because it's already barely a love story, don't add more complications to it). So the king is just a buffer, and an easy clean-up at the end.

I think some people are missing the point when it comes to Eiser. He’s not saying he doesn’t want to marry her. He’s saying he doesn’t want to restrict her with the promise of marriage in case she feels differently in the future. She may very well meet another man and genuinely fall in love with him but not pursue that because she made a promise in the past.
Of course he wants her! He’s holding himself back! He yearns for her but he also doesn’t want to be the reason she limits herself when it comes to love and marriage.
But we all know Serena how is though. Once she sets her mind to something it’s not gonna change very easily. Eiser knows that as well which is why he’s carefully choosing his words lol.

Thank youuuuu for pointing that out, so many people stand for serena’s perspective when in reality eisner is being considerate for her and doesnt want to hold her back when it comes to her potential future, she is young, strong and undertakes the hotel. Do you know how disappointed I was when she indirectly proposed to him????? I WANT EISER TO BEG NOT HER
Also some people are like serena when they want something they try to get it ESPECIALLY if its romance cause why are they holding onto that so strong… thats not the only thing her future holds… she cant get reassurance from a man who prioritizes revenge and cares for her success.

Since it’s implied Ima say it:
He cheated, got a girl pregnant, left to be with her, turns out the child isn’t his, now he’s coming back as if nothing happened.
Now if she gives him even a SLIGHT chance I’m dropping this. I don’t have time for a weak-willed FL that can’t stand on business. The dude played you and is acting like he owns you. You better boss act and be a badass.
I know ima gets some disagreements but this is just how I feel. I like strong FL that doesn’t like a man play in their face ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
I’m gonna have to reread this from the beginning because I feel like the plot has been lost along the way. I am so confused now
