This chapter is basically just aaron thinking of what he should do. One wrong move from him will make things worse or smn like that. Aaron thinks that cain truly doesn’t want to kill him, ‘the doctor’, and just wants treatment. So why does his right handman, sid, say that the doctor is dead. So he figured something’s wrong. And now he’s thinking of what to say so cain would trust him.
And sid just wants the doctor to shut up and not say anything.
Just as the Dr. said, Sid has been doing shady stuff behind Cain's back. Like in ch. 10 Sid send that sadistic guy to specifically kill Aaron. He even implied that he hasn't killed Gyeong Joon (Cain's door) because Cain has to play a part in his plan. So, we can conclude that Sid is not loyal to Cain and wasn't planning to help him find a cure, just wanted the compass (still don't know what's that thing) for his own purposes.
About the Dr. I think he just wants to survive and Cain's his only option, besides he knows Sid is a liar, and Aaron knows that Sid knows that Aaron knows that he is a traitor lol (and an ass****, gosh I hate Sid's guts).
Right sid even said that Cain wasn't going to be a good king and he didn't/ wasn't going to follow him. Like dude what the HELL
