A powerful vampire who seeks fun and entertainment. A cursed, dark magic wielding knight. These two clash together with an assassination attempt that quickly turns to desire and sets the uke free. The art was pleasing and the chemistry between MCs was pretty hot. The pacing was too fast though, and there is no real feeling (for me) of an emotional connection. Part of the story was uncensored, then it ended with fully censored scenes which was annoying. What irritated me most though was the scanlation teams blasted watermark peering out from every skin surface in the second half of the story. Seriously..don’t do that. It sucked.

What a surprising and fun kink fest that was lol. Taichi was an innocent little pervert and total dominant who stumbled upon an obsessive lust then love for his senpai and roommate, Shinobu. Shinobu was older, taller, stronger as well as outwardly stoic and intimidating... and he was putty in the hands of his new forceful kouhai. Very much a submissive in the bedroom, Shinobu melted under Taichi’s increasingly experienced hands. Both MCs were likeable and I loved the insight into Taichi’s perverted mind. Lots of fun, a recommended read.

What a beautiful conclusion for one of the sweetest couples in the yaoiverse. I am so glad Takarai Rihito revisited these guys and gave them even more happiness

This was a bittersweet story that dealt with some complex issues in a mature manner. Paediatrician Nakamichi sensei was in an adulterous relationship with his married mentor who died in the beginning of the story. I hate cheaters so feeling empathy for the grieving man shows how skilful the mangaka was with establishing that relationship. Tsutsumi knew of his fathers affair and was very hostile towards Nakamichi when he joined the hospital as an intern. However, he softened towards the grieving paediatrician as he worked with him and saw the kindness in his fathers lover. And the loneliness. These two falling for each other took time because Nakamichi kept the younger man at a distance while he focused on moving through his grief. I appreciated that he dealt with things, took control of his life and regained his smile without needing Tsutsumi. If he hadn’t done that, I would have struggled with the thought that Tsutsumi was merely a replacement for his father. It’s important to be happy and healthy in yourself to offer the best you have to someone you love, especially when it’s a tangled romance such as this. By the end of this manga, the two MCs gave the feeling of fated mates or destined lovers. It was beautiful (though I would have loved to have had some sexy scenes between them) and the ending left me with no doubts that these two would have a wonderful life together in their busy little rural hospital.

Lol, that uke may be a trash talker but he is a total M in the bedroom when a real S comes along. The seme dominated him effortlessly.

Reading about the quietly reserved Taichi and the sociable extrovert Nao was a wonderful way to spend an evening. Starting when these ex lovers meet each other again at uni, the author surprised me by giving them the maturity to decide to be friends again. That gave the opportunity to have some flashbacks and you start to realise that Taichi never stopped loving the bubbly Nao. I loved that quiet yearning he showed, and then as Nao started falling for his friend again and the two had sex, there was enough sexual tension between the two to make that a satisfyingly hot read. I enjoyed all the story because both guys obviously adored each other, but that doesn’t mean things are easy. They had adjustments to make for each other, arguments to resolve, communication problems to sort out and then planning for their future; all while working, studying and spending time with some of the best friends I have come across in a yaoi. I especially loved the girls, how the mangaka made them so likeable and such good friends. But most of all, even when things were tough, I really appreciated the love between the 2 MCs that was challenged, but never in doubt.(▰˘◡˘▰)

The first story with Subaru and Daigo was a little irritating. The very straight Subaru was suddenly gay for Daigo and I simply couldn’t see any reason why. He was still, for all intents and purposes, a stranger. Also, for all that Daigo ‘wanted to fall in love’, and in the end ‘wanted to fall in love with Subaru’, that doesn’t mean that he IS in love with the man. It’s for these reasons I found this story very unsatisfying.

I agree! The story on daigo and Subaru felt rushed :(

I enjoyed this sweet story, it was a good blend of heartwarming and yaoi style chemistry. I thought little Rin was an adorable bundle of energy, and the MCs were lovely together. I know there is some negative feedback on the slap the seme gave, but of all the things you read where a seme treats his uke like crap, this was nothing like that. It came from that transition from terror over losing a child to overwhelming relief they are safe to disbelief, hurt and rage that Rin’s safe recovery was kept secret. Then before he had time to process things, he lashed out. I think if it had been a mom who slapped, it would be more understood, and while violence is never ok, it was at least, understandable.

Three very different stories. The first was a really sweet one with an age gap. A 35 year old salaryman eats out every night since he broke up with his long term lover because he struggles with the loneliness of home. He tries a new French style restaurant that is run by owner/chef, 25 year old Mizuki and finds that he loves more than the food there. This was a feel good story of new love and a caring couple.
The second story was about high school classmates who became unlikely friends and eventually, lovers. Taira is always asleep in class at the desk next to Nao. When Nao meets Taira outside school he finds out why he naps through the day. This story was ok. I personally didn’t really warm up to Taira too much, probably because of his job. I also didn’t really feel a romantic interest between the boys as much as a friends with benefits starting up.
The final story told of a salaryman who incited the men around him to acts of abuse and violence. He attends a clinic to try to understand what the problem is. He quickly finds that the Dr there knows both the cause of the problem and the perfect cure. This story is all about sadomasochism. There is flogging, nipple clamps, some sensitivity play, mild bondage, control and mild humiliation. It can come as a bit of a surprise after the last two stories and is really a superficial glance at S&M. It’s let down by that because it’s important to see consent and aftercare in a good S&M story.

Ugh... I never like to bomb a manga because I know the mangaka put such effort into it. However, there was nothing to like about the MCs. The seme was an abusive, rapist, son of a bitch. He wanted to hurt the uke, not as a part of a consensual S&M relationship, but to be noticed by him. What a selfish mofo.. I often love an obsessed seme, even a crazy one can be fun, as long as they value and protect their loved one. But this guy was simply loathesome. I kept reading hoping for something redeeming, like some payback. But no. The uke loved his abuser, was willing to be the lover even if the seme married the nice fiancé that the uke had met and liked. He was willing to give up his self respect just to stay with the seme. If there is one thing I hate in a manga as much as an abusive, rapist seme, it’s a doormat of a uke. And again, it’s not even like he had a humiliation kink or a masochistic need to be belittled and manipulated. Even with that stuff it needs to be consensual with after care. He was just willing to overlook everything because he ‘loved’ the seme. Awful. And I read it all, hoping desperately for some redeeming element. Epic fail for me. (︶︿︶)=凸
