in the beginning of the story, zhan zheng xi explains how jian yi disappeared on the second day of high school. on the second day of high school jian yi disappears and doesn't return for three years until zhan zheng xi is in college. when he returns, is when both couples officially get together and presumably when the band will officially, OFFICIALLY start. the author will likely do a timeskip for when he's gone.

what we are reading right now are their middle school days, before jian yi disappears. aka the flashback. they are all 15 and in their last year of middle school in china. it'll still be quite some time before jian yi disappears since they haven't graduated middle school yet or had their summer break etc. thats why there are special chapters shown of them in the future (like the christmas special chapters) and jian yi talks about having to repeat high school since he didn't get to finish before.

in the description it says highschool boys so all of these chapters are happening after his kidnapping right??

the description says “junior high school”.. you do know that junior high is just an alternative name for middle school, right?

nope, they are still in middle school and jiang yi hasn't been kidnapped yet. The description says that they are highschoolers because they are teenagers or because the first chapters weren't very clear about their age.

Why is everyone so sure they’re together, though? It seems like he’s a lot more open about his feelings, but I don’t think they’re OFFICIALLY together. My guess is one of those moments where they both confess, but nothing officially comes out of it and they become friends who have feelings for each other but haven’t made it official. Like, he’s more confident it’s flirting, but it seems like the other guy is still in a little bit of denial. Has the part of all couples being officially together after the time skip been confirmed or is it conjecture?

everyone is sure they get together when jian yi comes back because the author has literally confirmed BOTH couples get together in a bunch of illustrations with captions that said so. also has drawn loads of illustrations on their weibo .. one of zhan zheng xi and jian yi french kissing, jian yi sitting on zhan zheng xi’s lap in a sexual way (his ass on xi’s crotch and xi appears to be kissing jian yi’s chest) which was from her official 19 days volume one book. and like I said again.. the other couple has been confirmed to get together later too so if you’re curious about that as well. there’s your answer.

Okay, the illustrations don’t really prove anything about the timing, but I’ll trust the captions do. In that case, I’m disappointed in the author for making them into a borderline abusive Type A tsundere couple. I was hoping for an actual conclusion,

after reading i can say this is true because in the beginning we see that they meet up again and they reminisce about past memories and we then cut to them in middle school idk if they have a band or get together but this is for sure a flashback also there was also the time where zhang zhen xi realizes jian yi's feelings and they have this whole moment but i guess they decide to not date yet with it and continue acting the same as usual this probably didnt help like the rest of the comments but it's sum to remember i guess.

Yeah, I’m not getting that at all. I’m getting Jian Yi is open about his feelings, knowing he won’t be judged. If that’s them in a relationship, I’m extremely disappointed.
