This is gonna be super long, but this webtoon was also long and I still sat through all of it despite my bitter emotions, so here goes. I really wanted to love this webtoon. I was honestly enjoying it a lot, but by the end of it I was so tired of the story and just didn't like any of it. As soon as it opened up with such a consensual and explicit depiction of a real BDSM dynamic, I was ecstatic. I'd been looking for a story like this one for so long, and I was genuinely really excited for it. It's a shame that this glee was so short-lived. To start, the conflict between the main couple felt so insanely rushed in so many ways. The way it started felt sudden and unnatural, even if the intentions were justified. The progression also felt extremely rushed and out of place, like the author just wanted to quickly get it out of the way so that there would be direction for the webtoon. The actual climax also felt extremely anti-climactic, and everything the characters said/did just didn't work well for me at all. The resolution was perhaps the worst aspect of it, since it was, again, rushed, but also didn't feel justified in any way. Like the author knew that the story had to go from point A to point B and just wrote some dialogue in between. It wasn't satisfying at all. And the epilogue is what killed it for me. By that point I don't understand how anyone reading still held any degree of passion for that couple, since Jisuh became very unlikeable and Heejae just became extremely bland. And that's what ruined the BDSM scene for me. It felt forced. I'm not going to generalise but there's probably a great deal of people who clicked on this webtoon because of the BDSM, since that's what it marketed itself as for the first third of the story, but it just kind of got swept under the rug and completely forgotten for the rest of the story, and instead replaced by forced drama. I'm not saying there can't be any drama in this story. On the contrary, I think drama can spice things up greatly, but only if done properly. Even if the seeds for the conflict had been planted early on, it never felt natural, and the reactions of every character just felt so fake and scripted; it completely took away from the immersion. So to shove a BDSM scene at the end as "fanservice" just felt so lazy and ruined the story even more for me, because it reminded me of what this story could've been vs. what it ended up being. It disappointed me to no end. It seems like the author wanted to make a quick callback like "oh right I forgot this was supposed to be BDSM. Let's just shove a quick kinky scene at the end that doesn't explore the dynamic at all, but rather just shows kinky sex." I'm so sad that this is what my feelings for the story ended up being. As I said, I was so excited for it, so to be so intensely disappointed left such a bitter taste in my mouth, and it hasn't gone away yet.

I see a lot of people praising the second couple, and yes, they were extremely cute. However, is no one going to mention how it didn't fit the story at all? How literally out of nowhere they just shove this new couple in your face after the epilogue? I have nothing against them, and I also agree that they were wholesome. But after the the awful feelings I got from the previous couple, to suddenly and completely out of nowhere say "ok so this is the new couple. Forget about the other two and focus on this completely random romance that has nothing to do with what you just finished reading" just feels out of place. If you wanted to write a cute story for Sun-Yool then go ahead. But not like this. And especially, not in the middle of a chapter! What was up with that?! So I'm reading chapter 57, which focuses on the main couple, and all of a sudden I see this new relationship out of the blue? Come on now. And I know it sucks, but I just couldn't enjoy them either. I was already in a bad mood because of the previous couple, and to give me no time to calm down before you shove a new story down my throat doesn't even let me prepare myself mentally, which resulted in me not having a good time with the second couple either.

I know this is rambly and ranty, but I'm just so sad about this. I'll keep saying it, but I was ready to make this my favourite manhwa. It's not that I disliked it because it went in a different direction than I'd expected, it's the opposite, because that's the whole point of reading stories: the feeling of suspense. I wouldn't have even cared if they hadn't ended up together (which seems more realistic if you ask me), all I wanted was a story and ending that made sense, not this. Again, I'm sad, but also slightly disappointed. This rant is by no means a way of discrediting the author, because they did a lot of things right. The art was great, and the story was great as well, until it wasn't. I just hope I can revisit this in a few years and appreciate it more than I did, because honestly this ruined my night.

i cant and cannot fuckin stress enough that y’all better start reading bj alex or imma bite y’all toes off >:(( anyway,, ive been seeing some hate abt a certain character (no spoilers ofc) and imma just say this ; people have different ways of coping with trauma & with the things that have happened to this character, you’ll soon see why they’re such a dickhead & so fucked up. in my opinion, the character did fuck up so much in the story but they way their attitude did a wholeass 180 turn around deserves so much more acknowledgement. thanks for tuning in fellow degenerates
