so, i basically binged the shit outta this webtoon- all i can say is it took me on a fuckin ride & i really dont mean that in a fully positive way,, so be prepared for this rant imma whip up y’all ;;

this webtoon had so much potential to be something great; exploring the depths of bdsm, a potential polygamous relationship, showing complexity & hardships of past relationships, a secret affair of filming homemade porn, and featured a protagonist that could stand up for themself and be assertive. however, this thing here took such a batshit turn for the worst so fast that i got fucking whiplashed.

where did it fuck up so bad ? once it started becoming clear that heejae was on the manipulative and conniving level of jisuh’s ex, that was strike one. i wanted to give heejae a chance by saying he could change and he can makeup for the bullshit he pulled with jisuh. but the way the author turned him into such a pussy-whipped, sappy character turned me off. i feel like it’s way too early to switch up heejae from ‘hehe im all smart and hot and im a rich bored kinky dom that can get whatever and whoever i want’ to ‘uwu :”(( i cANt lIVE WITHout yOu BABy you my fuckin BABY PLEase don’t leave me :”(( uwu ilysm ill die without you’. i feel like this character development would’ve been bomb if WE HAD MORE TIME TO INVEST IN HEEJAE’S PAST, SEE HOW HE TURNED OUT TO BE SO FUCKED IN THE HEAD, AND WATCH HIM OVERCOME THE PERSONAL HARDSHIPS THAT CREATED HIS TERRIBLE PERSONALITY. but nah, we just got the flashback of younger him and his sister which shows that hes been aware of being gay since his childhood and how he built the mindset of playing his cards right and betting on scenarios where he tries to make sure things go his way. ALL THAT DID WAS SHOW ME HOW LONG HES HAD THIS TOXIC, MANIPULATIVE TRAIT IN HIS LIFE

next, the whole falling in love with jisuh thing was giving me a fucking headache good lord- so i have no problem with the whole attraction and smitten at first sight trope, but with the way sunyool was acting like he was absolutely in love with jisuh omg,, and when he was talking about his ‘first love’ i wanted to catapult myself off a bridge. mind you, before the whole drama with the unrequited love situation, the only real interaction between sunyool and jinsuh was during the filming & that one time they went out for coffee. you mean to tell me that it took one (barely)handjob and some head from jinsuh for sunyool to become a simp??? i hate how rushed the whole love triangle troupe was and even if the author wanted that to come into the story, there should’ve been more time for jisuh & sunyool interaction outside of filming and maybe some development for all three of them to get into a relationship

and can i just say, the whole revenge thing was so anticlimactic and made no real sense???? sure, leave heejae after miraculously making him fall so hard for you- but the whole like recording and involving the ex & sunyool??? im legit confused bro. AND speaking of the ex, the whole situation with him was also so anticlimactic; so after it’s implied that even after they broke up, he was clearly a manipulative, stalker, psychopath, and was obviously a big impact on jisuh’s life ( which is how he even got involved with heejae),, he just walks away and says ‘aight imma dip, ill never see you again bye’ ??????? HOW DO YOU CREATE A CRAZY ASS CHARACTER LIKE THAT AND NOT EVEN GIVE HIM TIME TO REFLECT FROM HIS ACTIONS AND THEN EXIT THE SCENE???

all i can say is, i really wish things weren’t so rushed for the sake of drama and leaving so many loose ends untied. the whole bdsm thing really had me hyped but the story itself was so bad
