It’s not often that a male lead’s depressing backstory actually makes sense in why he’s such a shitty husband!!! [pikachu face]
Soon, The next maybe ten chapters or so will be the ML’s backstory.
The novel has 123 chapters, expect the webcomic to have about 100. Im past reading 70, and it’s actually so interesting. Refreshing to read something with zero magic!!!
Without getting into spoilers, they both have of them have C-PSTD, and their fatal flaws seriously clash with each other’s -his is obviously an inferiority complex, while hers was a lack of curiosity.
The translations I read was better than the scanlations, but still not super fluent. But, it’s at least good enough to enjoy.
Someone else already posted the link in the comments.
I’m pretty certain they will, but it’s a slow burn. I’m at chapter 78/123 and she is still at the “let’s not see each other ever again” mood.
The truth is I like this one because they have both made asses of themselves. Meaning they both made major assumptions about each other and ugh yeah, his backstory is kind of really rough buddy.
“Never meet your idols” is like part 1 of his issues and then part 2 is “idolizing someone is also dehumanizing them.” I don’t want to spoil this part in detail because it was quite jarring.
Her issues, were like before she met him “everything is fine- I don’t need to ask questions.” And then after the betrayal it turned into “everything will be fine if I don’t ask questions right? Right???”
WRONG GIRL.
While reading the novel, for once I am equally frustrated with both leads lol
So I’m certain they will work shit out. But it’s a slow burn for sure, and they have issues to get through. I’ll probably finish reading the novel today or tomorrow, so I’ll let you know if otherwise.
So true. I finished the novel a while ago and it's so painful, the end it's bitter sweet but with the extra chapters it's a bit more happy. They went through a lot, both victims of the war with many scars, things got better once they talked and cryed.
He idealized her, she didn’t wanted to know her father wrongs and ML pain. Until they both were forced to face it and open their eyes to the true.
I cryed with this novel, it's deep and well written. the political situation of the country and the war gives many nuances to the relationships in the story.
It’s so funny some comments hating on the top when the two characters are literally acting as each others foils!
The innocent virgin pretending to be experienced, the experienced player pretending to be innocent.
Like yes there is something sus about thé top, it’s basically the same thing that is sus about the bottom!!! lol
It’s a fall in love first, learn to be honest together type of story! I’m looking forward to season 2! I’m glad there wasn’t a crazy cliffhanger, was worried about the abusive family. More than the sister I blame the offscreen mother!!!! That shit is learned and encouraged!!! Toxic parenting creating toxic siblings!!!
Media-Literacy, Characters and Narrative and ultimately, our own ability project humanity onto fictional characters.
We’re all here for the “Romance” -why?
Because even fake love is fucking delicious.
And love is madness, and what’s the difference between madness and artificial madness?
Madly in love, is that romantic?
Why is there so much SA in boys love in general?
The wise rotten woman (an average recluse) who does nothing but read boys love all day, what the fuck does she look for in all these toxic reads, what comfort does she seek when reading through tales of abuse and exploitation?
what is more appealing in this daily practice of escapism than herself in her life?
The joy I get from reading this…
Is it fake? When I laugh and squee and disagree with reviews- does this artificial experience matter?
when will things get better?
I don’t know, but thank goodness for nerdy horny losers like me keeping me entertained and less lonely.
I wonder if the Korean comment section looks like ours-
“THE SIDE CHAPTERS BETTER INCLUDE THERAPY!!!!!?????”
