PUT YOURSELVES IN HER POV...
I am perplexed by some comments.
seriously, WHY SHOULD SHE GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT HIM??? In all honesty...
The fact that she could still stomach him was because of the plot and the Author's whims...
1) The General might be a demon to Heiner BUT he was her dad and they had a pretty good relationship.
2) Heiner organised the coup that saw him dead, I think they even killed her long-time maid cause she kinda disappeared.
3) Heiner told her to her face that he never liked her and just pretended to get to her dad
4) Heiner stood by the sidelines and watched as the WHOLE COUNTRY POINTED FINGERS at Annette as the cause of their woes in fact at a point he cherished it
5) Heiner emotionally abused her to miscarriage and double suicide attempt
she tried offing herself TWICE to get away from him.
Seeing him should seriously trigger her ...
.....BUT
she's the devil for not asking about the man who married her for his revenge.
Do you know what deceit/ ultimate betrayal does to someone's psyche???
Sincerely, it takes serious strength of heart for Annette to stand in the same room as her abuser/ex-husband/ the repentant perpetual victim,Sir Heiner

I do not think she has the intelligence to be an Empress. I am not saying she's dumb but the cunning??? naah, they'll eat her alive.
She does not have the lineage hence she has to lean on the ML for every support. She's going to be so dependent and for someone who has lived her WHOLE LIFE in the war zone, it's going to affect her in the long run.
The duties of an Empress are not one to scoff at. If she delegates it too much, she's going to lose respect.
She's one-dimensional, pure even and that's great but for an Empress, I do not think so.
Now if she were the head of his Army, surely she would thrive
BUT
As seeing this is a romance manhwa, they'll probably end up together as that one awkward couple we know...

I disagree, she's quick and able to think on her toes in a pinch. Hence how she ended up married to the now emperor in the first place. Gabriel tried to trick her a couple of times and she not once fell for his schemes but frequently pretended too. I think she'll be fine a bit of sarcasm will not be the end of her.
Besides the lineage thing is a bit moot when she's a war hero and the only reason the country hasn't been taken over by crazed radicals. She doesn't need a strong family backing (which she does have. They just are dead) as she has her own current accomplishment to lean on. Literally all she has to do is be aware of that and confident. Which normally she's pretty confident so I think she's got that too.
The nobles are only complaining because they want a chance at their kids being queen. Had that jackass old man not said anything they never would have even brought her position to question imo

...Blonds as ML, does not appeal to me at all. Maybe by unconscious bias from the authors picking dark/brown hair as ML over time
BUT
The chokehold Zeref has on me NEEDS to be studied. My brain shuts down when he pops up, like Klaus from the Original series....
I do not need help, I have decided to make peace with it..

...LIKE, who is the redheaded yapper???
I thought he was from Franz, not Yappington...
Why are they bent on making Annette, a girl, a civilian feel guilty for her General dad.. In a country where Royals, especially Females DID NOT WORK, DID NOT POLITICS NOR PARTAKE IN ANY FORM OF GOVERNMENT. Apart from education, they did not do politics AT ALL/...
Annette fought for life to be partially taken seriously as a composer/pianist...
YET, everyone is trying to guilt trip her into what??? submission?? pity ?? Like Damn, let her breathe...

REAL...
Baby Girl was vibing and chilling, living her carefree life while grown men were salivating and deifying her...
Now they judge her for not being aware that she was "that girl"...lol and try to gaslight her into caring about the man who orchestrated the destruction of her whole world...
like, let's take a step back, The perpetual victim, Sir Heiner practically destroyed Annette, it was by her will that she cloaked her pain and tried to make her marriage with her tormentor work out BUT still The perpetual victim Sir Heiner wanted her on her knees daily figuratively and literally.
I guess it is why the Author already killed off Annette's mum cause I do not think there would be any room for negotiation if the rebels had killed her mum...
...just squished, even if once by HER...
FR GENIN JUST ONE CHANCE
