I think we can also see with Ariadne, even in the present she isn't above killing. In the past, she was a killer for Cesar's sake. And now, she's a killer for revenge/vengeance. At first, she WAS just deceiving Alphonso for the point of getting back at Cesar, but as you continue to read you can see how her genuine feelings for him grow.

I also like how she didn't just become a good person after reincarnating. She's still a little evil, but she is the lesser between herself and Cesar. She does at times show guilt for killing Alphonso, but I agree it's generally overlooked. She does seem a little hypocritical at times, but I think if you understand the difference in motives between her and the villains of the story, it makes sense.

I also agree about the misdirected anger towards Isabella, but after what she did to Arabella, her haughty attitude, and the way she treated Ariadne when she was just brought to the cardinals home, bro I hate her too.

Right! And I have a feeling there's a darker side to Alphanso in this life. Whenever she gets close Ceasar you can not only see jealousy, but there's something else and I don't like it. Not trying to justify what Ceasar did in the past but I feel he hasn't become who is was in the other life so I am hoping she'll see that a give him a chance

I hated the ending because I kept thinking about that poor little boy in the hands of such a toxic family and how he's going to suffer so much abuse. You know that they're going to keep hurting him because of her. It broke my heart and it made the whole ending so sour for me. So we're just going to ignore that little kid?

I think it was explained(idk if u made this comment before or after the recent chapters came out where it explained this but....) that it was voluntary(at least the dress part) cuz FL wants to dress her bestie up prettily. Kinda like that feeling of wanting the best for someone? Or the pride of making them look good/feel good? I think the attic/seperate room was requested by FL so she doesnt "hurt anyone" or so it says im guessing on her full moon days. Idk why it isnt a better room honestly though, that doesnt really add up. Plus maybe also the fact she says "she hates being noticed by people" so that mightve factored into her wanting to live more lowkey/not as a rich lady. The hand me downs might be her more like she doesnt really see the point in dressing up + being lowkey and not wanting the best. N just like the beginning of 2nd timeline, he let the other women be cuz he still needed the benefits until mc was able to do something bout those. Her character/personality wasn't all tht great either in prev timeline as I think she would've still ended up naive/dependant on his affection/care/attention if she did accept tht 'early' w no info too. Out of everyone he was the first n only to offer a hand n knew wat he would want plus I don't think either of them was feeling love for each other in the beginning. Without doing wut she did in current timeline the ml would still let those women b

Also let’s not forget that she was going to war against his country in the past timeline, so after she refused his offer what was he supposed to do? Send her back to her country to go back to warring with him? Even after everything his wives had done to her what was she really gonna do if he was to let her go? She was a general of her country on the battlefield at least due to her power killed hundreds of his soldiers if she took his offer she would then be a traitor and give him info on them so she couldn’t go home but she chose not to do that cuz she loved her family till the blueish haired guy came and gave her a reality check so I don’t really view him as a bad guy, he’s a king who married many wives who bought with them info/items that could support his kingdom which was what he needed at the time, and she’s a prisoner of war unfortunately

I think, in her mind, at least he had a reason and he was the only other person besides her servant to actually talk to her as an equal and with no lies.

My problem isn't his feelings for her but HER FEELINGS for him. I hate that they make women 2 dimensional. Must she blush and fall in love? can't she just be grateful and pretend? The Emperor isn't even a good person. He gathered all those ladies to just abandon them.

I’d just like to add. As a prisoner of war she should have just been a prisoner of war. Not a toy for his wives. He asked her to join his side because he knew her circumstances better than her and honestly could have used her powers. Once she refused he could have just had her executed. What was the point of stretching her misery for over 10 years? Brutalised and tortured by his wives for fun and it was also implied that the guards sexually assaulted her too. That’s my beef with this guy. She was the GENERAL for their enemy army. Public execution would have lifted the nations morale which is probably more important to a dedicated emperor than his wives entertainment. But he left her alive to be in pain even though there was no reason to treat her so cruelly. Death would have been kinder and honestly more efficient than keeping an enemy prisoner alive for over a decade.

Idk about SA I don’t remember reading anything like that, but I know they took her eyes I went back and reread but the ml did heal her eyes and let her go back to her home country who btw basically sold her so they could get the second princess

I am not saying he should care. Just that it’s more cost effective and honestly more practical and productive to have her publicly executed. He healed her eyes after a decade just to let her see that she has been used all her life and she suffered 10 years of torture for people who don’t give a shit about her. To me that seems more cruel than all the torture she had gone through.
Also WE know it’s an isekai story. But I doubt the ml knew she would regress when he let her go after healing her.
As for the SA it was implied through the guards words and actions it wasn’t shown outright but it was pretty clear.

A general AND the princess of the enemy country!! the least he could do is execute her and let her have a honorable death, but what did he do? let his deprived psychopathic concubines play with her like some Entertainment doll and his disgusting guards using her for their pleasure, and please for anyone saying he didn't know, OFC he did! someone who knows the insider of his harem's affaire won't know what's going on in a prison cell? but you know the most surprising is that one guy saying "prisoners of war are often tortured for informations" oh sorry to burst your bubble but that is usually carried out by soldiers not some concubine who just wants to let out some stress and who's not even holding the title of empress and definitely not by letting your h*rny guards do what they did unless you're not " so noble" and have no dignity as an emperor.

It's also funny how he said " i don't meddle with the harem's affairs" ok but how is a prisoner of war any of your harem's personal affairs when she didn't even agree to join hands with you?

And then they throw you the " healed her eyes before sending her back" as if one's supposed to feel grateful? after letting her rot in that cell he decides to send her back to her country where he knows exactly how her end will be even tho he knew the truth and could have relieved her pain and let her die with honor as a former general (since he sympathized with her so much from what i understood) oh but wait! he healed her eyes with his power so that nullify everything negative about him! Hell i bet she would have been better off being a slave from war than a prisoner of war if that's how prisoners of war are treated in his country, and for someone who's no less than an army commander and the enemy's princess....

And then she falls in love in the blink of an eye and accepts everything with open arms, it would've been good if she only focused on her revenge, and idk ...maybe after a long long time spent together, maybe if he started wooing her properly then and maybe then she could open up to him, yeah maybe that would've been a better scenario to m, i just can't accept the way their romance is developing with such sh*tty backstory and character groath.

I usually give up to 4 stars when the story has good art even with a cliché plot as long as the ML is half decent with a favorable personality. but with half baked story and characters like this... this isn't worth more than 2 stars.

One im female (〜￣△￣)〜, two I’m was partially stating what happened in the story after going back and rereading the chapters and I did agree that it was an asshole move but at the end of the day I still stand by what I said he didn’t need to give her comfort or protection. He didn’t have to care about what his wives did to her probably because of the benefits that his country was receiving from theirs but still trashy move I agree, those soldiers I read that they took her eyes I never read any indications that there was any SA maybe I was reading it wrong or maybe that person read a spoiler that hasn’t been posted in the comments yet idk whose to say he didn’t get rid of those soldiers or even punished his wives as I said before we might get more info into the past which would be great I would to see it, cuz the only info that we really have is what she has though her jail cell and whatever info her servant told her after she came home and was put in a jail cell. Which is basically info on her home berry and how his wives homes are controlling interests in his and she’s literally fixing his problems so that he no longer has to have them around to help his ppl. Also I don’t think she immediately fell in love with him I don’t think she’s in love with him now, maybe a crush she’s questioning his changing behavior but it’s also not like she knew anything about him in her past life either probably just that he was cold ass dick. None of this would have happened in the first place if her family hadn’t sold her out for the younger sister anyway and when she came home they blamed her for being unable to run their own country and branded her a traitor instead of welcoming her home.
anyway I still don’t think he’s a terrible person I mean there’s been worse and honestly the reason the wives treated her like that is probably cuz they heard about him offering her the position of empress like there’s no shot they don’t have eyes and ears all over that place and won’t hear about it. Like, I’m seriously flabbergasted. Is our reading culture so toxic now that we take below the bare minimum and throw our hands up in victory. No one is perfect but this guy is legit trash. The author always makes the worst of the trash hide behind “trauma” so when they’re through abusing the FL, they can now begin to “heal “ from it. The woman he claimed to want to be his Empress refused him and as most boys, instead of to ignore her and live his life, he probably leaked to the concubines what he wanted from her knowing what they were like. Well, I don’t care for his feelings for her, it’s her reaction that I hate.

When you think it’s an abandoned child, and you took them home to adopt them as your own child, but then you realised the extra pair of hand, but you still insisted to raise them as your own child, but then when the child’s parent came with anger and panic to find their missing child, and then you realised what you did wrong, then what you can describe what you did will be like;
“ I accidentally abducted a child”.
