He was teasing her saying that it was "too early for her to confess her feelings for him " since they only met two other times, but she got surprised (and probably embarrassed) by that reply since the same things were said between them in the past life, and ran off

So basically wat happened was the boy was joking and like telling her she's too young to confess her love to him (cuz u know like "Uhmm senpai can i please speak to u in private?" Thos kinda moments and the girl gonna confess her love). So he played it like that, which he realized kinda hurt the girl's feelings.
The girl on the other hand left cuz, one (maybe) she was embarrassed cuz lmao the duke kinda rejected her and two... cuz of what the duke said overlapped with her past memories wherein a situation like that happened when they were older...
