The series is called Addicted/ Heroin. Based on the novel with the same title.
It only covers one season because Chinese authorities decided to ban it and ordered the two male leads to have distance. By the distance I mean they really aren't even allowed to be in the same room. Why? You can watch the series and you'll know why. Their chemistry was so great tbh. The director made the two male lead sleep on the same bed the entire duration of filming which really improved the chemistry between them.
I suggest watching the drama series first before reading the novel just so that you can base them on your imagination.
