There was someone who lent her a fake ring hat maybe mimicks the power of the saintess. She succeeded in tricking everyone most likely because fl, the true saintess is stil young and no one else but the empress can interpret the prophesies. Most of these are my theories based on the previous chapter btw.
Technically she isn’t a fake just a temporary one until her daughter was born. All her powers would then be returned to the daughter as the real one but someone (idk who yet) approached the mom and gave her pseudo powers. This pseudo power is the reason why she can curse her own daughter. Hope that helps!
