It was actually like what the lady in chapter 1 had imagined. It seems to be the exact scenario.
When Ren and Shime were together at Shime's apartment, they both got a text from someone. Ren got a text asking where he is, and Shime got one from work.

Then in the later part of chapter 5, Ren was outside the balcony and the man stepped out and started doing it with him. Ren didn't want to because he is doesn't want Shime to know. Then the man said something, and Ren stopped arguing and went with it. Then he thought "that's right, this is an exchange." Or something along that time. The basic is that, the reason why he gave the bj to Shime in the beginning is because this what is he used to; he receives something and in exchange, he gives sexual favor.

Alex is into Cole but Cole is really insecure. They break up the first time bc Cole is insecure and makes Alex think they aren't dating, they break up a second time due to a misunderstanding where Cole overhears some other students saying Alex slept with a girl named Lily that they met during a beach date where Cole passed out. He threatens him with a gun, Alex takes the gun and control of the situation pretty quickly, they break up for the 2nd time, then Lily clears up the misunderstanding for Cole, who then goes to Alex and is ready to kill himself with the gun. They get back together. Cole seems mentally unstable so I'm kind of surprised Alex just sort of rolls with it, but whatever. Maybe because Cole is always a crying marshmallow? So he never believes he's serious about the gun?

In the extra Lily is all over Cole (I think she was always more interested in him- in Cole's defense although Alex is the "hot" one Cole is adorable) and Alex gets jealous and is a little rough with the sex but Cole is into it (he thanks Lily-sama in his head while getting screwed lol)

Btw something I found amusing- Alex is pretty open about the fact that they're together and banging, is this what the mangaka thinks Americans are like? When a friend asks why they're leaving a room together Alex is about to say "we just had sex" before Cole interrupts.

I don't really think that it's necessarily an American stereotype. In a lot of Japanese character-based mangas, really confident semes are pretty happy and open with their relationship since they don't see a need to hide it.

True I guess, there are some weirdly Japanese things in here for this being a western setting, like Alex thinking about how now that they're in university there isn't anyone to scold Cole about his long bangs (a very Japanese high school thing to do from what I remember from living there)

I reread the raw earlier today and am kind of amazed that at the end Alex is still so into Cole, like, Cole threatens him with a gun once, he walks in on Cole masturbating with the dildo and sees that it's labeled "Alex Junior" (ok that ones just funny), Cole threatens to kill himself in front of him, and he's still like, I'm dating this dude! Then again he does say early on that he likes weird/unusual/unique things and even though I think Cole is kind of a psycho as a reader I still find him super cute, I'm still into this pairing. I guess Alex is a psycho too because he also uses the gun on Cole as well.

Exactly! Plus, if that were the case, Cole'd be the same.
