I read it until the end to see if I'll like the "reason" why FL still ends up with the prince and I still can't accept it. All of a sudden, FL lost her fear and PTSD without explanation. There were two male side characters who were perfectly suitable for the FL and who would have supported her becoming the head of her house but she still ended up with the immature and stupid prince who hated a child just coz. I think Korean authors have a n unhealthy fascination of making sure FLs end up as the empress/queen/ruler whatever. It's like any other noble profession just won't cut it. It would've been better if she ended up a head of her house with Carsein. Then the prince ends up ruling alone (or finding another partner to dupe), and for Jiun to become a nun or exiled. I don't buy the "she's still a good person" crap. She was abusive and gloated over the FLs suffering in her past life. She had no qualms taking everything from the FL and not doing any work. She only felt remorse in her 2nd life because her 1st ended miserably. Ugh.
Do we ever learn why the male lead was such garbage in the first life? I refuse to read any further into this work.
Yes, and it was so dumb. The Prince didn’t feel loved by his father nor anyone else. So when everyone around him kept praising the FL, he felt so jealous and resentful towards the FL for being so beloved so easily, especially his father who just critiqued him. Take note, this started when they were CHILDREN. All the while the FL was nice and supportive towards him. The Prince just sulked on his own and did not even converse with the FL for a length of time even through adulthood. The FL just had to say 1 sentence and the prince miscontrues her all the way. It was so pathetic.
Omg, and don’t forget him getting mad that HER mother chose to save her instead of him. Like, I know you have mommy issues but what the actual fuck. SHES HER MOTHER, NOT YOURS WTF.
Also for me, Jiun is definitely bad, but she was also basically kidnapped to another world, so she latched onto the person who she felt could keep her safe(crown prince). Another way crown prince sucked was that in the previous life, after killing mc, he kept comparing Jiun to the mc. So, Jiun’s life also ended up miserable because of the scum. She lived in a different world and didn’t have all the training of the mc. Of course she’s not gonna be able to be as competent. He’s literally the one that killed mc, like wtf.
I guess I just am not as mad at Jiun, since I understand how she would be scared in that situation. Doesn’t excuse what she did later and stuff, but also my hatred for the crown prince let’s her off a bit too lol
Oh, I completely forgot the weird way the Prince latched on to another child’s mother. It made no sense at all. Thanks for that! I agree. It was kind of creepy. I thought it should have made him more sympathethic towards the FL since they loved the same “mother” but oh no… weirdo was still mad.
Your reminder that the Prince also caused Jiun’s death afterwards by comparing her to FL also made me reconsider - ok maybe Jiun deserved a bit better. Shucks. It’s the Prince. He really is the true villain of this story.
So true!!! Like they were both villains in the previous life but the prince got a happy ending while Jiun, who also suffered a bad fate, gets a bad ending??? Double standards right there. Especially since he’s the one who caused both to suffer. Hggggg I get mad just thinking about this manhwa again. I legit had to cleanse my mind and read Raeliana, since that story soothes my soul and remains top quality with good art haha XD

If it follows the numbering of the novel, I’ll pick up reading again when chapter 105 is released and all this angst has been put to right. My heart can’t take how broken Rubi looks.
