Ikr I only read this bc it's cute but remarried empress has raised my expectations for an empress by a large amount. And also after reading the shadow queen, villainess reverses the hourglass and I just wanna be you even for a day, my expectations for villainous mcs have also gone up (TT~TT)

That's because she knows the future and she's the only one who can get them all out of this mess the emperor and the red lady are getting themselves into. That's why she takes risk/ going against the emperor's wishes (he's not her emperor and as a hostage/foreign guest she has no reason to listen to every single of his requests). If she goes at the emperor's pace then the emperor will die. And she is being forced to really quickly adapt to a world that's alien to her, not to mention she's in a country which has this whole magical set up that harms her physically and also there's the most powerful mage/red lady that's trying to kill her. She's trying her best when so far she doesn't possess the same level of godly abilities as the emperor and the red woman. So her efforts are commendable and she's risking her neck without hurting anybody else. I don't think comparing this webtoon with remarried empress is fair for multiple reasons i've highlighted above such as yerenica being from a different world and being a hostage all by herself in an environment that's harmful to her. In remarried empress the risk and the stakes aren't as high. This webtoon has far more fantastical elements in regards to the magic system, the world-building,etc. I believe yerenica has some powers that are yet to be unlocked and she's the only one who can actually communicate with their realm's god. It comes down to preference in the end. Personally, I like remarried empress, this webtoon and your throne in their own ways. They share some similar themes but are essentially so different in regards to the characterization, the world-building and tone that I find them hard to compare.

Maybe her uselessness is giving you Rashta vibes lol. Some FL's in these stories I be reading give me Rashta vibes and I start to get annoyed at them lmao.

Last chapter or so when she was crying and clinging onto him gave me major Rashta flashbacks and her "cuteness" and the way she sorts him out when she's upset or in need of help. I dont know I still like her just the way she acts like a child gets to me sometime and you probably feel that too haha

THIS! And her hairstyle and behavior is also very similar to trashta TT~TT since I read the novel first before the manhwa, I can't even read novels with rashta type mcs

Like no hate to the mc but I sense a major waste of potential. I mean the art and story are good but fl is disappointing. Hope it changes in the future.

Why should she do what the emperor wants? The guy is seconds away from firing/executing innocent maids. Y'all think that everyone needing help is a useless damsel in distress, when it is an actual fact that she is unable to live without the help of others. Like, literally. She also said that the air in Belgoat is heavy and the mana is making it harder to breathe. She doesn't have to luxury to be independent. Clinging to the emperor is literally her only way to survive. She's way different from Rashta, she has a valid reason to depend on people. You just think she's annoying because you take whatever the emperor says as "the right thing to do" when in fact, he's the one who has taken her as a hostage and put her in this dangerous situation and has explicitly told her that he'll ensure her safety yet the fact the she's in danger is his fault.
Also, I've posted this in other comment but imma write it here as well.
"For a person who was unwanted, always alone, and have never received affection/love in her life, I think being able to be positive and optimistic is a type of strength in her case. She has a trauma of being in the center of attention and of people talking about her behind her back, plus with her parents dying when she was young and no relative/family wanted to take her in and care for her.. the fact that she's not a "gloomy depressed antisocial" is already strong enough for her.
Anyway, what's wrong with relying on people, she's never had that chance in her past life. Also, it's not like she's harming them nor is she a huge burden. She herself is a war hostage, it's not like she can just do anything she wants in a place where she has no power.
I know everyone is used to "strong fl" who kicks ass, super smart, super calculative, super girl crush and all, but sometimes being kind, positive and cheerful IS a type of strength. We just think it's weakness because it's too... feminine."

Also, get rid of your expectations for villainous mcs and empresses. What do you expect Yerenica to do? She didn't ask to be a hostage, she never asked to have a greedy father as an emperor, she never asked to have a weak body where the op vilainess could kill her without much effort, she probably isn't even expecting to be an empress. Her only goal is to stop dying and stop emperor from marrying the vilainess. That's all. She doesn't know the current plot because the story of the novel hasn't started yet, nor does she have any power and ambition/motivation to be an empress.
Why is it annoying to cry and cling to the emperor? Her body hurts, her head feels like it's gonna explode, she can't sleep, she has no one to talk to about what she's going through, and when she's breaking down and trying to express her emotions, suddenly she's weak and annoying. "Oh how dare she cry, why can't she be calm and composed like other cool kick-ass MCs?"
She's neither useless nor a burden, she's just a normal girl stuck alone in a situation she never wanted/hoped for.
