I am so happy that I decided to read the manga after watching the anime! The anime didn't cover the entire story.
**Spoilers Ahead**
Like, dang, Matsu! You were in love with Yaichi?! That wasn't in the anime! !( ⊙O⊙)!
Masa's and Yaichi's composure did a 180°! My favorite part is Masa's character development! Like, nearing the end we stopped seeing the goofy drawings of Masa looking pathetic. His whole demeanor changed after kidnapping his own brother. He became so much more calm and sure of himself.
I defiantly have a ship and it can go either way. huu huu ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
My 2 favorite pages from the manga. (Mainly here for me to recall. (≧∀≦)):
(Masa thinking that he can't change the way he is.) http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/house_of_five_leaves/tr/mpn_chapter-1980002/pg-27/
(The moment when Masa decides to kill to protect Yaichi.) http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/house_of_five_leaves/tr/mpn_chapter-1980042/pg-5/
**SPOILERS**
From what I gathered after rereading.
-Jim didn't commit suicide like the author in his novel, he's traveling like Ian was doing, evident in the last page.
-Irene, the girl that got Ian killed, was Ian's half-sister.
-Ian and Irene's mother don't remember each other even though they've met when Ian was 13 or 14. ( http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/not_simple/tr/142193/page/123/)
Jim tells Irene not to touch Ian's blood because of HIV.
---My biggest question is: Was Jim's love for Ian more than just platonic? (Was questioning it when I saw this page: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/not_simple/tr/142193/page/37/)
I swear if you sent this page to anyone they'll think it's a normal, lovey-dovey manga: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/boku_no_high_spec_kareshi_sama/mf/c002/36/
But when they read it, they'll be like WHAT. THE. FLIPPITY-FUCK?!
It's probably the only "normal" page in the whole manga. The translation is to die for. I have a strong suspicion the translation was stopped due to the difficulty in translating the humor. But, I could be totally wrong!
I feel like there was a huge plot hole in the story. I think the author is aware of it but didn't have the means to finish/include it in the whole story. The character K and the kid that was being bullied was left a lot of room to develop. Their backgrounds are a mystery. Why was K bullying the kid? What deeper connection does K have with Gusam? Gusam's background is also left blank apart from the "murder" in '88. I gotta knoooooww!!!
(っ°Д °;)っ
I uncensored a panel. I hope y'all appreciate the "research" I put into it. Tried to get the art as close as possible. ლ(´ڡ`ლ) http://www.mangago.zone/home/photo/4184086/
Chapter 5 was plot twist after plot twist! It was interesting, unique, and surprising. I actually really like the story because it was so different. Though, I'm not sure about the beating each other to a bloody pulp part. lol
