Okay but I can't really fully blame Yohan. His situation was just utter shit. I would want to take revenge on the world too. And as they said the desire gets amplified once you become a vampire. His hatred for the world was probably much bigger than his love for Hayan or her parents. It paled in comparison to his desperation and pain that everyone and everything else had put him through.
They were too late to save him when they did. Even if he was still alive his spirit was already broken.
Even if Yohan loved them and considered them family they were still an obstacle to his larger need for revenge.
Hayan's parents were just collateral damage for him and a source of power. He lost control and became a wholly different person when he became a vampire. I feel like when he said he was happy because he finally had family, he wasn't lying. He genuinely liked being with them but his desires now as a vampire just took better of him and he succumbed to it. He didn't have any resistance in him left due to trauma and hatred. One person or one kind deed can't just erase all the wrong he has suffered.
This was so long I'm sorry but I just feel really sorry for Yohan. A child, or anyone really, doesn't deserve to go through all that and imagining how real that is, how every day millions of children go through exactly that if not worse, and are powerless to seek justice pains me.
