He's actually more like Ichimaru Gin from Bleach. In fact, the voice actor of Ichimaru Gin is also Mikajima's voice actor in the drama CD, so he's really typecasted to be the sly sinister character (same as Hisoka). I love those types of characters though, those that have an inner psycho waiting to be unleashed
I feels like sensei draw Mikajima with Gin from Bleach as character inspiration tbh. Feels so similar, that sly yet there hint of kindness vibe. Cuz usually the mangaka have a voice in choosing voice actor in their CD right.
