conflicting feelings..lots of readers are upset about the perceived rape scene and that's understandable. i say perceived cause apparently hinata doesn't really see it that way. kageyama did lose control because of instincts which is on par with omegaverse, but he did regret it in the end. it doesn't excuse what happened, he could have prevented it by taking his inhibitors regardless of side effects. he didn't because he got overconfident and overestimated his control. what i'm saying is there's lots of factors why the assault happened, like the fact that the story was set in a verse literally designed to help facilitate such issues. also, with hinata's suppressor, the fact that you have to inject it literally after your heat started, is a bit stupid i think. it was not designed to prevent heats only to supress pheromones after the heat started which is ineffective in a lot of situations. but yeah, with those factors i can kind of understand how the rape scene happened and therefore, tolerate it to some extent. the premise of the story was just not designed to take sexual assault seriously, as evidenced by those fvcktards almost successfully forcing themselves on hinata. and they got away! just like that! they weren't even reported. even kuroo said that alphas would take advantage of the excitement of the games to do something they shouldn't. like "what can ya do, yeah? it happens." so, those are the facts.
what i wish the author did was to approach the verse with a "safe, sane and consensual" mindset. not all omegaverse have to be about alphas losing control and omegas taking everything in stride because that's the way their constitution is designed. author could have established some societal rules/safety precautions for omegas, suppressors could have worked better with actually suppressing heats/pheromones, alpha inhibitors could have fvcking come with many brands so alphas can take the ones compatible with them.. lots of things could have been better but the author choose to go down this cliche path and that's what i'm disappointed in.
for some reason, i was expecting a big blow up and lots of angst when ken and kirara's relationship is found out by the brother but instead, they had a really casual talk about it and even their "hatred of homos" was cleared up. this is a really pleasant surprise, add to it the potential for the brother's own relationship. i'm super satisfied with this chapter!
