doubutsu no kuni- a world dominated by animals, and one human boy who can understand all of their languages. a fight for survival, but also genuinely funny pure and sweet. will make you cry starting at chapter 1. seriously a ridiculous pendulum of light hearted and crazy intense. by the author of zatch bell. didnt reach wide popularity but did win awards. ive read it 3 times.

dorohedoro- by hayashida q, a super distinctive art style. gritty art in a dirty desolate fantasy city feeling. super violent and characters you won't forget. the story is super complex. ive read it 3 times.

shigurui- historical samurai manga abt the feud btwn 2 young samurai. incredibly violent with gratuitous nudity of both men and women, and a general homoerotic feeling. one of the most intense things ive ever read. read it recently.

soujou no koo/kyuusou wa cheese (two part story, in that order)- details the relationship between an pathetic but popular salaryman and his recently reunited obsessive gay stalker from college. whether youre a fan of bl or not, this series has incredible relationship characterization thats hard to find elsewhere. definitely worth a read. ive read it 4 times.

city of darkness. idk if you like martial arts, adventure, but this manga is pretty neat.

you can just look I the front page if there is a update if the manga has green highlights or just click the now reading so that the site will inform you if there's an update but if you're asking when will the manga be updated I don't know how to help maybe you should search if the group that scan the manga has an official site or something or search for the author it self sorry that's not much of a help :(
