Giving this 5 stars purely for Leona and Etienne's characters. Theymakeupthisstory. Fkin Rishar's headass is entirely reckless and gets Etienne into more trouble than ANY situation is worth, alas, if it wasn't for his horrible first impression, I would've shipped Etienne with Mathias on plot development alone tbr Also, Antoine is such a sweet and genuinely interesting character. Love their backstory despite the lack of use for it. HATE HATE HATE The emperor's cowardly bitchass btw. Was almost made homophobic when Rishar revealed dude loved his father during peak hating-the-emperor's-bitchass hours
