I'm so freaking annoyed lol this is just going to be me ranting, I'd be interested if anyone feels the same way I do about all this
I'm trying to watch the anime again after having to drop it because I just couldn't stand the creepy AF cousin. I'm now paused where they are about to start a duel over Miyo. I just knew he was going to lose and I don't even care why. After seeing here that she actually stays there, I'm just done with it. I get why Miyo is this way but I can't stand the absolute ick everyone is giving me. The way they are all drooling over her and basically just seeing her only value in her having children and her power is making me physically uncomfortable. The one person who's actually standing up for her gets the brunt of it all and I really do not care to see him "get healed" and just forgive her.
I'm a big big fan of healing storylines where the MC with a horrible past finds true love and the gentlest soul on earth who'll stick to their side in everything. But I just cannot stand how disgusting everyone else seems to be and the fact, Miyo is ready to throw all of Kudo's good will out of the window. If you don't consider his affection for real or to be more of a mental burden, than at least consider all the energy, time and money he has already invested in you! She only cares about her feelings and her pain, that she pushed onto other people. This is a good portrayal of how depression can make you selfish (not saying she is depressed or that someone who is depressed is a selfish person.) The negative emotions you feel are so all consuming and start to make up your whole identity, that nothing else matters.
If anyone has some good healing storylines like I mentioned, go ahead and suggest some. I have discovered the trope through danmei and am having a hard time finding romance animes with an adult couple (I'm 25 and not interested in teenage romance.) If you read until the end, good day to you lol
