Okay so, I know a majority of the people here have read yaoi and I just wanted to hear your opinions.
Lately, I’ve been noticing that people would get attacked for liking yaoi or BL, is that a bad thing? They said it’s because of all the sexual content in it, but I’m not really into yaoi because of that. So I’m really confused.
Does liking BL mean u fetishize mlm?? I don’t, and never will. I respect them very much and I wouldn’t imagine ever fetishizing them and being a creep. But if I were to say that I still am interested in BL, I’d probably get attacked. Anyone know how to answer me? Also sorry if I didn’t make sense, I’m not the best at writing my thoughts and questions out !!

hmm i just want to add and change the perspective a bit. If youre straight and you like bl does it automatically mean your fetishizing homosexuality? If yes, then if youre gay and you like shoujo and josei does that mean youre fetishizing heterosexuality?
as a bisexual leaning towards lesbian, my answer would be: REGARDLESS OF YOUR GENDER IDENTITY, IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR INTENTION AND MIND SET. I wont expound on this because then Id be sending a long ass thesis paper lmao

I don’t really care that much, but these are just the three things that I have noticed and have come to slightly dislike.
For me, it’s usually the typical female leads I see in shoujo manhwas/mangas with blue eyes and bright blonde hair, or the typical reincarnated storyline, or when the lead is always just awfully naive or innocent. I hope this doesn’t mean I’m picky lol but it’s just what I personally am not the biggest fan of. But it doesn’t mean that I hate any mangas/manhwas with these tropes, most of them are actually really great!!

while reading mangas those things you list are actually things i never/ rarely come across. weird.
i'll be honest, i always love a good trope that is played off well. but sometimes i get really annoyed with characters that are annoyingly confused. like not the innocent girl falls down, but more like when someone asks them a question they respond with not an answer, but with "!/!>!?!?!?111? ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?!11"

Whatever trope the female lead of http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/they_say_i_was_born_a_king_s_daughter/?oaVp is. Useless, self righteous and dumb as hell.
Also, the fact that the FL will go for the dude who helped her the least (or in this case, abused her) instead of the other supporting love interests who stayed with her thick and thin, helped her truly many occasions. http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/the_abandoned_empress/?sNBe I want justice for Carsein!
I also really dislike "perfect" female leads, no flaws and kind to everyone, give me someone who I can see as a human not some 100% perfect angel from heaven: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/a_capable_maid/?5ROj and http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/doctor_elise/?9NR2
I agree with you, there are genres and tropes I despise but I am always willing to read one with it if the storyline is good, at the end of the day, my opinion on the trope/theme/genre is meaningless as I will judge of the quality of the story itself.

Obligated female characters in stories that she have no significant role or impact in.
I want to see a realistic female lead that aren't some empty casket of roles that the male lead in reverse harem shouldn't be so fond of.
Or maybe I have too high of a standards lol.
Another thing: weird loli trophe. I don't want to see a man/woman falling for a kid lol.

http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/six_half/ This manga really surprised me cause you’d expect it to be cringe and cliche since the main girl has amnesia. But it’s pretty good, she doesn’t do stupid things like the mc from wolf girl and dark prince.

I’ve only ever read yaoi manga and I know a majority of people on this site read yuri and yaoi. But I know some people have different thoughts about it, please share your opinions about them! (⌒▽⌒)

Most ppl on this site DON'T read yuri, it's either yaoi/webtoons. Tbh I don't read yuri nor like it that much because most of the art sucks and the smut isn't that good (because of the art..) Most of it, when you compare it to yaoi is more vanilla?
Sort of like shoujo smut. Like, actual shoujo smut not the hentai ones. I mean c'mon, even guys don't find the manga yuri's hot. I've asked my guy friends their pov on yuri and they can't get that into it either.
The mangas, I mean. The webtoon yuris are better. I actually read those because they're fricking cute yet somehow hot. Porn or actual hentai is better... if you're looking for good smut. The only yuri MANGA whose smut (&art) I enjoyed was this one.. http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/a_secret_just_between_you_and_me/
For me, I guess I saw a couple edits and posts on ig one day and got intrigued. Did some searching up for it and boom I was suddenly reALLY into it. I think the first I’ve ever read was a manga, Kakegurui I think? But the first korean webtoon I’ve ever read is probably cherry blossoms after winter
What about you guys? Kinda curious
Well my first was quite bold its "killing stalking" back in 2018...from our late and legend"mangarock"
i've been a weaboo since sixth grade and eventually i bought the manga for Noragami. my first manhwa though was bloody sweet OwO because it was advertised on my insta and i was interested lol
