One side says its incest and the other says its not.
If they saw each other as brother and sister then yes ot would be if your definition of incest means to only be related due to legal documents. So yes, it will be wrong if they both consider each other as brother and sister. (Which is true in some households)
But the other side who say it's not incest, then yes it isn't if your definition of incest is relation by blood. (Which i double checked---yes, incest means bedding a sibling, parent or cousin by blood)
Both arguments have some truth within them depending on one's informed facts and upbringing BUT.
POINT: These arguments don't matter because first, it's fiction, no one will glorify this in real life. Second, the author is focusing on the bond between the two, romantic or not.. they are learning to trust one another through circumstances and are helping one another. The theme here is unconditional love and the growth of it.
Lastly, you all are welcome to believe what you wish to believe. This comment is not to change your opinion of the story, that is your right. However please don't "shame" one another just because your opinions are different, or force your opinions down each other's throat. Your moral beliefs dont give you the right to bully others into agreeing to your own beliefs as again this is a work of fiction.
Your only differences are your opinions, but by the end of the day y'all are humans. So be humans about this and be civil to one another. Advanced Happy Valentine's day.

^^^^for real tho
Great point! Also for those people concerned with at least the legality of the relationship, their labels as step siblings were technically terminated when both of their parents died. I'm gonna cite this, "Affinity ordinarily terminates upon the divorce or death of the blood relation through whom the relationship was formed" (West's Encyclopedia of American Law, edition 2, circa 2008). I'll put the link for the article afterwards (it also has a better citation), but basically, after their "affinity" is terminated through death of parents (uhh reference chapter 1 of the manhwa I believe), then their relationship status is up to them to decide.
If they grew up close together, then they can choose to remain as step-siblings. However, if they did not grow up together or form any particular strong bonds, it is their choice to sort of dissolve that "step-sibling" label. Of course, this is for people concerned with the legal aspect of it. Morally, it's up to the people to decide if they consider this morally/ ethically right or wrong.
However, you do you. If you like this keep reading, if not stop. Let's stop this argument here (like mixiebeeble said) and just enjoy reading manga/manhwa/manhua on this site. We don't always need to start fights in the comment section. Also make sure you do your research. If someone would like to refute my point, by all means go right ahead. Even better if you write me an essay with a bibliography at the end! We're all human here. Just... don't generalize any body of people and we'll be okay. Have a nice day everyone and stay safe! :))))
