It’s because she doesn’t get the views necessary for her to actually make any money off of it. Of course perhaps when she does start getting paid, it’ll probably be harder for us to access it. But I would rather that happen then just having us enjoy them with no benefit to her. She’s doing something she loves, is wrong of her to wish to be paid for it?

Did you read the full statement? She asked that people go to naver where it’s free in Korean and use an image translator to read it. That way her work gets more traffic and she can get money for an official translation. She says she doesn’t have the money to do that now.

Yeah I brought that part up "I'm confused as to why she's upset about it being translated, when she just said that'd shed have to pay for an official translated." Xx did bring up a good point that the author should be payed for her work and I agree. If we lived in a perfect society where we could all read off the official website and the author would be getting the majority of the money, then yes. But just because something is officially translated doesn't mean its not going to get pirated, and people who would rather not spend money go to sites like manganelo and mangogo and find the translated works here for free. There's no getting around piracy, which the author is complaining about (and she has every right to)

If I was Korean or could speak fluently then yeah I would support her, and I love her work so far. I don't think that this translator did anything wrong though. They saw that it hasn't been translated, and maybe thought that it would be fun to translate it and share it with the other people in this world. I respect their decision to stop translating it, but i said before that just because something is "officially translated" doesn't mean that people are going to read it, because it costs money. Somebody is probably going to pirate it to mangago, and hence you still have the same problem. There's nothing wrong with wanting to get paid for her hard work of course, its just that this industry is very author unfriendly and the consumer usually benefits without thinking of the creators blood sweat and tears that they put into it.

In Italy manga are for babies, book editors don't invest on it. I hope that they create something like Netflix for manga, you pay monthly, you can divide it with your friends and you can read whatever you want without hurt anyone.

There are sites where you can read the legal translations. Yes you have to pay for a lot of them, but compared to how much the Creator loses, it's not that much. I don't make a lot of money but even I am happy to pay for something that I like, so the excuse that there aren't places to access these things is bs. It's just that there aren't a lot of legal and FREE places to access these things. There are plenty legal and paid sites. All the Creator wants is their due. Is this really do hard for westerners to do?

I agree that if we treated manhwa authors with the same respect as we do with other different types of authors, we wouldn't have nearly as much of piracy predicament as we do now. Sadly, the world doesn't work that. People see mahwas as throwaway content which is just sad. However, people in that industry are very aware how author unfriendly it is. You don't go into that type of platform unrealistically expecting everyone to be a boyscout and have good merits. Like I said before, I think that the translator did nothing inherently wrong and my main point is how can I enjoy a piece of media when I don't know it's language?

The point is is that the author is never going to get an english translation if all the traffic of her work is redirected onto this site. There are some translations and manhwas that come out for free on the webtoons app. I have no idea what you are arguing for frankly. This manhwa is free. The author just asked that people come to her manhwa on the site that it’s hosted on to read it and leave a comment so that it gets enough traction so she can get an official english translation. She obviously cares about her international fans.
