in short, no. its a big plot point though so spoiler warning
the night the king calls him, before he can do anything to shin he runs off to wolfgang and wolfgang leaves a "mark" (hickey) on him. so shin gets in trouble for that and ends up kicked out of the palace and the king is never able to do anything to him

theres a redhead dude and he's like a side-villain and he one sidedly likes shin... he ends up dying tho and becomes irrelevant to the story
